This worked for me. I had forgotten to turn off my wireless connection the last time I tried to reload the application and it didn't show anything needing updating

hey everyone, first post on this wonderful forum. i've had my phone for a week, and i've used this forum a whole lot to learn how to do about a million different things, and kept pretty quiet about it in the meantime. i figured that was more prudent than creating 27893784042 more threads like "this phone sux0rzz" or "halp i kan't seem 2 figyour oot how 2 turn dis ph0ne oFf"

anyhow, when i went ahead and installed the .76 OS, everything went fine with regards to the actual installation. i wiped the device completely clean, downloaded the OS, installed it on my PC, followed the instructions to update, and when i checked the phone, it was indeed at 4.7.0.76. success......or so i thought

however, when i went back into the DM, i noticed under the application loader to add/remove applications, all of them had disappeared. on my phone itself, i had flickr, facebook, youtube, etc. installed, but none of them showed up in the app list to be able to be removed, and there were no additional components listed that i could add if i wanted

once i went back to a clean install of the official verizon released .75, i didn't have this problem anymore. i'd really like to be using the latest OS from blackberry, but i don't want to sacrifice the ability to add/remove applications using DM

i apologize if this was posted already in this thread. it can be fairly difficult to search individual posts unless you have a very specific and particular phrase you're looking for

How to install any carrier 9530 OS onto your own 9530

1. Back up data on Desktop Manager under Back up/restore option
2. Back up your 3rd party apps. Instructions here-->
3. Disconnect your BB from Desktop Manager
4. Download desired OS to your PC
5. Install/run OS to PC
6. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
7. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
8. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.

***Steps 2 is optional but recommended
