Unhook your computer from the internet... Desktop Manager 4.7 connects to the internet to check version and vendor info, just shut your wireless off, or unhook your Ethernet cable, then open Desktop Manager again..

Smile Success!

I just downloaded the official Verizon release, and installed it after borrowing a PC. They HAVE to get the mac thing going! I just installed the Desktop Software, connected the Storm, selected check for updates. It did, and the installation was automatic and flawless. Verizon Customer Support says they have no info on an OTA update. After the update though, there is now an option (under Options funny enough) to check and install updates OTA that can be toggled on and off. Cool. Also, the unit is much more responsive in every way, at least so far. I now have less of an urge to toss it out of the window. I am actually starting to like it. I still like the iPhone. I've had two. Just too gimicky and the email sucked.

How are you getting .76 and .78 already? I just installed .75 and I notice a major
Difference in screen responsiveness, typing and signal strength/reception!

Actually there are more than that, however it is generally frowned upon to post torrents here and most other forums..
