From past experience, I know that Verizon launches an Equipment Guide for every phone released. For example, when I bought my Voyager on day 1, the equipment guide wasn't even released yet. I think the fact that Verizon already has an Equipment guide ready to go, or is working on one is a good sign that the release of this phone is imminent. I am also hearing that RIM will be announcing the phone this week. Who knows if the phone will launch with the announcement...One can wish...

I am so anxious to actually give this phone a run for a few weeks and get a feel for it. I don't know good it will be but it's a new toy and I wanna play.

The phone looks sweet from the front. I hope its the lighting cause I'm not crazy the way the back looks.

the miscoloration of the back i think is because of the lighting/flash/something. if you look at the pic in the leaked slide deck, it's much more black looking (though i guess that could be just a render, also)

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the color is a little different on the battery cover. Look at the Razr, the battery cover is different from the rest of it, it's because the battery cover is metal, and the rest of the body is plastic. No big deal.

Edit- You can see the mismatch in the PP as well, http://forums.crackberry.com/f86/rea...74/index8.html, where it mentions that the battery door is stainless steel.

I would love to see a limited run brushed metal version of the storm (Or any BB). Not sure it could be done for radio purposes.

Before anyone says it... I know it would be heavy. I still think it would be sweet.

Has there ever been a limited run version of a blackberry? They do it with everyother electronic device so why not a phone?

Sorry I know it is off topic but thinking out loud.

Default Storm Excitement

This phone is so beautiful...I can't wait to get it! I have had BlackBerry for years - back when it was just a brick - and have moved up through the ranks of devices up to now owning the Pearl. I abandoned Verizon after many years to get the Pearl because they wouldn't have it for two years and I have LOVED it...I think that this Storm is going to be a great combination of BlackBerry functionality and technological savoir fare, and I'm certainly jumping ship from AT&T to get it! Thanks for the pictures - I'm so excited.

Its comments like this that remind me of all the people who say that exclusivity makes no sense to them and how it will just hurt RIM's sales. (Not saying that you are one of them, sandrag.) There is a reason why a carrier would want exclusivity. Take sandrag's post. RIM still made a sale, however, Verizon now has a new customer. Some people will go to Verizon for this phone and some will not. Verizon benefits from the exclusivity. For those that will not go to Verizon, they can wait for the phone to come to other carriers or buy the phone from outside the country. Either way, RIM still makes the sales.

Excellent point. I couldn't agree more. My wife and I will be switching to VZW from Tmobile and I know there will be a lot of others who will do so too. And then there will be the ones who won't and who will buy it overseas or wherever and have them unlocked. Personally I feel better having one from the carrier with insurance. At least I know that if anything happens, I can always go into the store and it can be looked at and even swapped out, if need be. You can't do the same when you buy an unlocked one. Trying taking a Storm in to AT&T for repair or whatever and see what happens.

Either way, whether or not you will use the Storm on VZW, TMO, or AT&T, we will all have a wonderful phone that I think we will all enjoy!

From the pics in the original post, and previous points about the specs of the device: does that really look like a MicroUSB on the left side of the phone? Why does it look like something more proprietary?
