If the iPhone came to Verizon you say?
It would be a no brainer for me. I'd go with the iPhone for my personal phone.

Let's see, what do I want a cellPHONE for? Communications. I need to keep in touch. Everything else is just a bonus. So, MY priorities in order are:
1) Phone. iPhone 3G (and S) improved from a poor phone to barely mediocre. (Someone talked about Blackberry having crappy radios, yet didn't mention the iPhone's ongoing problem). Advantage Storm.
2) Email, receiving. Blackberrys' email is less-than-perfect. iPhone is much worse. Advantage Storm.
3) Email/messages, sending. For this I need a physical keyboard. I've spent a lot of frustrating time typing on my iTouch. Blech. Works for some people, but not for me. Advantage neither.
4) Last, internet. Hands down, the iPhone is better. Advantage iPhone.
Taking all into account, I wouldn't buy an iPhone because of the crappy phone. I wouldn't buy a Storm because of the lack of physical keyboard. My solution is to replace my aging 8330 Curve with a 9630 Tour, and keep my iTouch for entertainment and wifi moments.
Sorry. I'm very impressed with the iPhone 3GS as an amazing, handheld computer--but as a PHONE, it's lacking.

BlackBerry Curve 8330, 4.5.0.138. Why no hybrids for this one? Because it's just an understudy, just waiting on a shelf in case my Tour meets an untimely death.

User experience may vary.
My wife has the 3G, and I see none of your stated problems that aren't completely related to ATT. Her email, phone etc work just fine when she has a signal.
When others throw out the "toy phone" slur, I just laugh.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | iPhone also has pushed email similar to the BIS. They just don't have the security as in BES....not yet.

Based on my observation, this is my takes on the subject matter.
Verizon Wireless is developing the new LTE or 4G network. they will roll out to 2 cities by the end of this year. And they will roll out to 20, 30 cities by the end of next year. In another word, Verizon Wireless should be out of CDMA/EVDO by 2011. If Apple is to sell iPhone through VzW next year, they have to redesign the phone for CDMA/EVDO that will last only one year or so. It will be a total waste of valuable resources from Apple's point of view.
Instead, I believe Apple will wait till Verizon Wireless complete the LTE deployment. Then you will see iPhone 4G selling at Verizon Wireless stores. Hopefully by then, they will have multitasking.
I am in no hurry as my Storm is working perfectly fine. I can wait till 2011. Think of the upside, by then the iPhone 4G will be light years ahead of the iPhone 3G. |

I couldn't imagine life without a BB... I would go Storm 2. But I would rather have a Tour or whatever the next greatest full (physical) QWERTY they have!

How about both? I have a storm for email, texting, web browsing and multitasking. I have a iPhone(Prepaid) for games, ipod , and Wifi.
If I had to choose one I would get a tour

I would most certainly stick with the Storm. Is it perfect? No, but they have made several improvements along the way. The iPhone has its own set of issues to deal with. Right now my Storm is working fine. I have the apps I like and I will continue installing the latest leaked OS which will only make it better. For me it's a phone first, all of the other stuff is a bonus. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
