Default Battery issues are killing me!

This is it, I dont know how much longer I can deal with this. I made 3 phone calls today in 5 hours totaling 14 mins and got a handful of face book notifications, didnt do anything with them and just cleared them and my phone is at 50% from a full charge! This is crazy what if I was depending on my phone today and was using it a lot, then where would I be? I have tried everything from deleting programs to doing battery drains to reinstalling OS
Should I call in to customer service? I didnt want to because this phone has been great, this is my first one that I got in Dec. and have had no problems with it (besides turning one of the torx screws a 1/2 turn for the screen click issue)

Did your battery used to last all day, and now it sucks? Here are my ideas...

First do this:

Originally posted by JRSCCivic98 regarding 1EVX vs 1evx:

The solutions to this are to make sure you're on the latest OS update for your phone, but most importantly that you're on the

latest PRL for the network you're on. For Verizon, dial *22899 and wait for the provision update to complete. If you dial

#HELP* Send before and after and look at the PRL version you'll be able to see if the version number changed. The PRL is what

drives the phone radio's ability to connect to the cell towers for service and it's something that changes almost on a monthly

basis. Keep it up to date.

Even if your not having 1EVX vs 1evx issues, you could be having trouble with changes going on regarding cell towers. Your phone signal searching will absolutely drain your battery. Updating the PRL as Civic suggested will either fix that or remove it as a possible problem.

Also, if you go to options>mobile network, do you have 1EVX selected as opposed to Global (Global is BAD).

If those don't help, then you could have some corrupted database issues that are screwing things up. The resolution to that is not fun, but I would do it for my Storm before I gave up (http://forums.crackberry.com/f132/re...y-leak-235048/). I know it's about memory, but corrupted data can just as well effect your battery.

Finally, you could just have a battery that is prematurely dying. I don't know how rich or poor you are, but if you can afford it ($20 or $30), order another battery today (I recommend an actual OEM battery...not some cheap knock-off). Having a spare never hurts.

Yeah there are a lot of ways to fix things but in general the Storms battery stinks. I drove today from Waldorf, MD to Kitty Hawk, NC. Its a 4 and a half hour drive. I used VZ Navigator.. After an hour the battery was more then half drained. My wife went down Saturday and used her Env3 and was half way drained after the full 4 1/2 hours!

i have had battery problems with the most current os release. I had to go back to .90 radio and it fixed the battery drainage. There are numerous ways to fix it, but i found changing the radio the best imo.

You should be able to get 36 to 48 hours from a full charge.

I had the same issue with my phone coming off the charger at 7am and being dead by 3pm. To fix I did a couple things:

1. Backed up my third part apps. (see the sticky in the OS forum)
2. Wiped with JL_Cmdr (I wanted a clean slate)
3. Installed the "official" .148
4. Restored my last backup
5. Now before putting my apps back I listened to dozens of poster to leave off weatherbug and viigo which I did. Just replacing apps I didn't hear complaints of memory leaking. Be very careful what apps you put back on. I have quickpull, google sync, poynt, pandora, bbfilescout, app world installed. Also went into each app and turned polling to longest interval or manual.

Now my phone lasts nearly 48 hours with light use and at least 24 hours with heavy use of internet and texting. Its amazing the difference. Also .148 seems to run much faster that when it was just an upgrade. Hope this helps.
