Default Battery issues!

My battery will not hold a charge at all! it has charged all night and I have only made one five minute phone call and it's already at 70 percent, and on top of that my battery door wont stay on! Would this be grounds for a replacement?

I would do a wipe and reload the operating system fresh. Then be very careful what apps you put back on the phone making special care not to put apps like Viigo or Weatherbug on there. Any third party apps that poll constantly will kill your battery. Apps like google sync and youmail have settings that allow you to change the polling interval like for google sync I set mine to manual and youmail every 30min. I now get 48 hours out of my phone with moderate use. If a fresh install doesn't work you may have hardware issues with the battery or phone.

Also set mobile network to 1XEV and turn your GPS to 911 only until you actually use it.

Sounds like a faulty battery or charger? What charger are you using? Even with apps constantly running in the background this seems pretty intense of a drop. I would first trouble shoot by adjusting settings and maybe remove any apps that may be causing battery drain. If that doesnt do it swap the battery and give that a try.

If you have a friend that have a storm, barrow his battery to see if this is a battery issue.

Ok just wanted to make sure you were using a BB charger, as some of the generics have been known to cause problems. I still think it may be your battery. As someone else said above, if you know someone else with a storm try their battery and see how it plays with your device. If not I would just pick up a new battery and try it.

Also, what OS are you running? One thing you can do is wipe and reload your OS and reload apps manually as well as reload contacts via sync to make sure you dont have any corrupted files

Understandable. I would try the battery replacement first. If you need to wipe and start from scratch, its not that hard to do and there is a wealth of information here for you with detailed instructions. Feel free to check out the links in my sig for some good reading.

Tinkering with your berry is even more fun than just using/playing with it.

I bought a new battery off ebay for $10. Save yourself the time and just get a new one...

Check your battery first to make sure it is not the problem, saves you the hassle of unnecessary reloading your os.
