Default AP Mobile News App now available for BB Storm

Been testing this for a week or so now and got the OK to post about it this morning.

The AP Mobile News app is now updated and available for the Storm!

This app will put all of the news from the Associated Press in the palm of your hand.

Hit http://ap.mwap.at from your Storm's browser (make sure it's in BB mode) and download v2.5.3 to your Storm OTA.

If you're having trouble with the OTA install or prefer to install via DM:

Installation alternatives for AP Mobile News

If it's still giving you trouble, please go to Contact | FreeRange, select 'AP Support' and send them an email.

I'm sure David Boyd will be keeping an eye on the thread, but the best way to get help is through the link above.

For the folks who don't have a Storm, go to APNews from your BB browser for a compatible version.

Yes, yes & yes.

It doesn't have to run in the background if you don't want it to. But if you close it without exiting, it will update I think every 40 minutes.

If you hit the menu button, select 'close' and say yes, it will close completely just like the WSJ app.

It does work well. Always impressed with what the guys at FreeRange, Inc. come up with. Can't wait for them to revamp FreeRange itself for the Storm.

Great app. Nicely done. Anyone figure out how to get the "Configure Tab" menu item to work? It doesn't appear to do anything for me.

TIA

Disregard. I *think* it is intended to be used only for tabs that have an "Edit" sub tab, like "Local News."

I ran into the same thing. Would also like the ability to delete or rearrange tabs (I don't care about sports so, I'd like to delete that one, or move it to the bottom of the pile).

It's really well done, so I'm not gonna complain about anything, but that's exactly what I was looking to do as well. (I'm not interested in sports either.)
