How is it different from mine and how often OS v are released why aren't they released in new BBs

Yes upgrade to the newest one .266 that is stickied at the top and yes you can upgrade anytime you like whether your a new owner or old owner.

in the link ypu provided spawn (how to upgrade) it says i also need the latest desktop manager...in my case 299

can you give me a direct link to download things pls

and what is wrong with mine,is the 4.6.0.162 always get stuck like the case in my device?

You do not have to install the latest version of the DM (Desktop Manager). I will recommend DM 4.6 as DM 4.7 seems to be buggy and lot of people had troubles using it.

Once you upgrade to the latest OS from your current one, you will get a slightly faaster OS, significant improvement in battery life and memory management. Signal reception has also been great on the versions from .237 onwards...

Here it is : 4.6.0.266 Vodafone UK

Do NOT unplug the device during the upgrade process. Make sure you make a back up before upgrading!

1. Download the OS and Install it on your computer
2. Delete the vendor.xml file
3. Start Desktop Manager
4. Connect bold to the computer
5. DM scans the computer and prompt to upgrade..

For desktop manager go to blackberry. com and look for software downloads, from the drop down box select desktop manager 4.6.

It's all free

Download the first one! As i said in my earlier post, you do NOT have to install the latest DM. What DM version you have now?
