Instead of every message having the last 10 messages, when you open up the SMS app, it just gives you a list of names, instead of all the messages, then you can click on a name and see the entire conversation. imagine a BBMessenger conversation getting a message with the last 10 or whatever messages along with it. Its very clumsy, and SMS threading should easily have been integrated into the BB.
If you never used a threaded SMS inbox, i don't think you would get it, but if you did, you most likely would agree, its a very nice feature that is very difficult to give up.
Noone has done it better than the Palm OS, its just such a nice feature.

4. Options (the wench icon) Keyboard
5. Hold ALT key Back/Escape a few times (or hold Alt, Back, roll the ball)
6. Probably a huige bearded Canuck who swings a mean hockey stick. Beer might be safer and more welcome than a kiss from another guy.
7. Roll over the icon, Menu, Move, roll, click
8. Who cares...old technology. SMS is one shot fire and forget messaging. BBM is faster and free, email is for real message threads.

Dieter: you pretty much HAVE to use Windows if you want to get any BlackBerry-PC syncing to work with little effort. You can use Bluetooth, and thereby avoid the actual USB tether, but in order to really get anything done you need Desktop Manager - and for Desktop Manager, you need Windows.

For #1 and #2 I just use google mobile which also links to the gmail, google calendar, and google sync apps. Also remember the milk has a blackberry app too. The gmail app is a full gmail client which is updated in real time, has all the same search and threading features as the normal gmail as well as supporting google apps users like myself (custom domain name).
Google mobile: Google Mobile
RTM: Remember The Milk - Services
If you don't want to pay for the premium RTM you can just use the mobile version (further down on the services page).

I will definitely check out the the google app, but I still wish there was a full featured sync option. Oh well, looks like I will be installing pocketmac. I actually tried to yesterday and it just flat out wouldn't work. Sort of off topic, but pocketmac's installer flat out stinks.
Thanks for the advice and suggestions so far. More questions to come, I am sure! I will say that I am very impressed with the bold's default browser so far, huge improvement over last year!

Ok one more: it is still crazy to me that I have to set a convenience key to email - an "email-centric" device should have a dedicated email button.

| | Remember the Milk
The easiest way to get RTM on your Blackberry is to direct your BB browser to rmilk.com (sorry, can't post a direct link yet, still a newb). From there, it's a piece of cake to set up.
BTW - I was a Samsung Blackjack user, and a Pocket PC user for several years. But I love the Blackberry. I wish it was a bit more customizable, but the ease of use is just second to none. Enjoy!

For the convience keys, having one set to app switcher will be your friend.
Also, pmac does suck, missingsync is nice if you are willing to pay.
Here is a nice link for pmac help, pmac occasionally wont sync correctly as the logs get screwed up causing contacts not to sync/over-write not to work/or duplicates. PocketMac Support Site |

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | The mentioned Google Sync for Blackberry works well.
You could also try the Goosync-like Sync-Je for Blackberry.
One more note, Dieter, I've lately become fond of the Google Mobile App as a one stop access to everything Google with no worries about storing info on my work issued phone.
