What apps are you using? Maybe one of them likes to suck down memory? As for me, I'm at 36.3MB free. I think someone suggested to nuke the apps, install/upgrade to .282 then reinstall yer apps. And, overall, there doesn't seem to be any advantage to upgrading to .282 except if you are on AT&T and you can now select 2g or 2g & 3g.

Edit: I've sent (rather large) and received MMSes now under .282 without a hang. Perhaps there is bad reception in your area? Or, try to switch from 2g to 3g.

I'm gonna try a pull one more time, it was also hanging while sending a MMS.

Close all of your apps and then do a battery pull. If the problem happens again then downgrade if u wish. I'm gonna keep this OS. Loving it so far

I downloaded it, but I think I'll let someone else play guinea pig for awhile before I switch.

I'm running facebook, myspace, berryweather, quick pull, BB app world, CB, and Bank of America.

Just kinda wierd as it didnt do this on .266, i think the MMS issue was just random as i sent more with sucess.

Works well for me.

Boot time ~ 3 minutes
Speedy Operation
Can select 2G / 3G or 2G only on ATT
All email, sms, mms works
Lots of memory
No apparent memory leaks yet

Note: It did require a battery pull after the OS update and I did a further soft "alt-caps-delete" reset to clean things up. It is working great now!

So far so good for me. No issues on the install, all apps that I use are working and no signs of any memory leak. Reboot after battery pull took just under 6 mins.

Certainly not a POS for me...

Oh a note to help people. I don't use the games that come with the BB so during the OS update I unselected them to save several MB of memory on the final install. It worked .

Thumbs down Really annoying

I never had problems updating or downgrading before, so this is really annoying. When I finish loading the new OS, DM opens up. It is looking for upgrades, but nothing comes up besides the old foreign language upgrades that I always ignore. The vendor file is erased and everything, what am I doing wrong? Anyone else have this happen to?

I know this is a little off subject but i've checked my mem cleaning option and its disabled. If I enable it does it only work when I reboot and what kind of info does it clean up, browser? etc

I looooove my new computer at my work desk!! Brand new...and rocket fast! Start to finish, this install only took 30-minutes tops! That's a first for me!

So far, seems a little zippier than .266, but I expect that with a fresh install. The ability to manually change from EDGE to 3G is great...but I don't see anything else new & different. Just finished the post-install battery pull...so the next day or so will be judgement time.

Heck, at least this will help us bide our time until stinking RIM releases the official 5.0 OS for our Bolds!!
