I liked the network selection feature but it was hardly a major bummer for me to lose it either, being that I spend 99% of my time in a metro area with fine 3G coverage.

My wifi works perfectly.

thejgeffect: Are you connected to any particular wifi WAP for more than an hour or so? I ran another test after updating my servicebooks and found that .282 is fine for the first 45-60mins or so on wifi, and then starts to cook. The battery drains really, really fast (like 30% in an hour), and the phone gets really, really hot. The servicebook update did nothing.

Hi, was wondering if someone had the same issue as me, it seems that sometimes my camera activates even when i don't hit the camera button.

Default .282 is the best (for me) thus far...

Given that .266 was, at best, a bad joke and the current (.247, I believe) for AT&T is awful, I thought I would give .282 a try.

After reinstalling from my backup (and had to reboot my Bold to get WiFi to work properly), everything has worked AMAZINGLY well. The ability to get to things such as turning OFF the 3G and other new options in the "Options" menu is wonderful.

Before .282, I would float around 12mb (after a bit, 20mb at *MOST* at start-up). Now, at start-up, I am at 41mb and STAY no lower than, perhaps, 27mb as long as I try not to have everything in my "Applications" folder running at the same time. I have 8 themes on board and not the crap, cheap themes either - mostly Elecite themes (which, generally, are not tiny).

Love it, love it, love it. Hopefully 5.0 is a continuation of this...

I have a feeling 5.0 will be super buggy on release day.

I don't think so.... It would be out already.... Remember that it leaked quite some time ago and every one in the beta forums always posted their problems with the os.... That's why rim is taking so long to release it. To work the bugs out and I also read in another thread that they want to release 5.0 for all available platforms at the same time so that might be why they're taking even longer....

Other than the option to switch from 3G to 2G, and a recoupment of the memory I had slowly lost since upgrading to .266, the only difference I've seen between .266 and .282 is a slower restart time after a battery pull. Runs fine on wifi and everything else.

The bug that causes a white screen when you pull the phone out of the OEM leather pocket or holster after receiving email is still there, however.

Running .282 for two weeks and just started getting white scrren after calls, email and text also this happens when taking phone out of holster, also battery started draining faster than beginning. Already have done several battery pullsan also clean install. No third party items. Any ideas will help.

I've never had a better OS than .282. Battery life is outstanding with WIFI and bluetooth on all day. Does it make a difference that it is a rogers phone? I wonder

I've found it to be exactly the same as the one just before it. Waste of my 15mins.
