| | HowTo:Get All Features (Browser, MMS) Working on T-Mobile w/Unlocked Bold *Revised* -UPDATE- You may no longer have to do these steps! It seems T-Mobile may now have the proper Bold Service Books. If you have a BlackBerry Data plan, go to MyTmobile Log in, go to email set up and choose change device. Enter the Bold's PIN and IMEI number and send service books. You may also need to register with the network by going to options>advanced>host routing table>menu>register now. Good Luck. Let us know. And don't for get to set your TCP APN settings by going to: Options>Advanced Options>TCP. APN should say wap.voicestream.com Nothing under user name or password.

| | ************** FOR THOSE ON A BES ************** Follow the guide BEFORE setting up on the BES server. If you have already done so. You'll have to either remove the device from the server, or from the server have them disable all the wireless sync options for your account. To do so, in BES, right click on the respective user, go to properties, and then the PIM sync tab. Uncheck wireless.
Thanks, NaviWilliams

If you chose to install the service books with AIM. You will then go to mobile.blackberry.com from your Bold to download and install the AIM application.

pltaylor, thanks a lot for your help and time.
I did the CrackUtil methd on Vista OS, I treied the Vist but it did not really work for me. Just to let everybody know make sure that both DM and the OS that you are loading is the same as the OS loaded om your Bold. I was hoping to got .190 going but for one reason or another it did not install on my Bold eventhough, I did complete wipe. But so far everything is working.
Have fun everyone playing with your new toy.... |

Now looking at the screen shots, I was never able to get teh DM in step two to uninstall the module, I think that's why I could not get the browser going, just my two cents, in case someone come across the same problem.

thanks for the update pltaylor, This guide looks a lot better and simpler to grasp. One question I have though is why do you have to download the OS and why does it have to be the version that comes with the bold and not the most current?

First you have to have the os installed to your pc to manipulate the java folder to remove and replace the Browser. In the old guide I used CrackUtil which I still think is the fastest and easiest way. It does the same thing as above. It just does it all on the device. Therefore not requiring you to have the os. However a lot of people were having problems with CrackUtil. Especially those using Vista. So this method is an attempt at making this as easy as possible.
As for the OS version. It needs to be the same OS as the device OS because otherwise you get into the procedure of an OS update. And I did not want to get into that here. It would be a great time to update, sure. But the whole purpose of this revamp was to make it less confusing for those with little or no Berry experience.
Thanks for the great questions. Hope that answers them.

This worked perfectly for me! Not sure if it makes a difference or not, but i ran this without my SIM card then once the service books were loaded i then added the SIM and connected to the network. I had turned off my BIS (I was using a G1 the past few weeks) and when i restarted the device everything worked like a charm! FYI - i'm running Vista (in classic mode, no Aero for me), 4.6.0.162 OS
THANKS!!

This worked perfectly. I spent an hour-plus on the phone with RIM and they couldn't even help me.
