I would panic at first, because I keep a lot of helpful info on there. Not necessarily stuff that would hurt me of someone else got it, but I definitely rely on my BlackBerry as an more reliable extension of my brain.

The panic would begin to subside as soon as I realized that I had an excuse to upgrade to a new model Curve...

Being a PDA veteran, I religiously backup everyday, so I would hurry to the store and buy another one and do a restore on it. I always use a password protect so it will wipe my info if someone finds it.

I backup at least once a week, wouldn't loose too much. That is one thing I do miss from my windows mobile device. An onboard backup utility that ran at 3am every night/morning.

With my situation I could not probably afford to replace my berry right away, so I would have to revert back to a dumbphone. EEEWWWWW what a revolting thought.

As I've said before, a few months ago, I was in a serious accident my 8300 was thrown out the window and skid across the pavement. It flew out of it's skin, holster and seperate into the BB, battery and back cover. It wasn't pretty, I was still able to use it somewhat. squinting through the scratches. ICBC finally gave me the money to replace it and now I have an 8310.

I am weeping just by thinking about it.

I tried to think of what to write .. but my eyes are now watering at the thought of losing my BB or having it stolen. So if it were to happen ... nevermind - I can't talk about it.

My BB is from work and we DID get affected by one of the outages during 2007. It happened while we were at work so I really didn't miss any emails for work. My personal emails were missed a little, but I just accessed those from the internet POP site of my ISP.
