I don't really care if the government outlaws driving and talking on the handset. If they do it'll just mean a boom in car adapter sales. People are going to talk while driving...

See the reference to this thing called prohibition - it worked out so well.

In my state (NY) it is illegal to talk on your cell phone while driving, unless you use a hands free device. I talk on my BB via a bluetooth ear device.

It is my opinion that as the days pass we lose more rights. Some laws are passed to improve life others to improve political stance. We need less laws to protect us from ourselves. Nature will and always has weeded out the stupid

My other half does the driving however, I've seen accidents caused by people not paying attention to the road and talking on the phone granted, there may be drivers out there that can do both but I see it as a little too dangerous.

It would probably be best to have a law against cell phone usage while driving (excluding hands-free devices). I have to admit that I have sent a text message while driving once or twice.

I think texting and emailing type actions should be forbidden. Talking on the phone, on the other hand, should be allowed as long as you aren't posing a risk trying to dial. I have to admit however, that the texting thing might be hard to enforce, since Blackberries have other useful features as well, such as maps and directions (I know I use them), which require you to look at them while driving.
