| | blocking calls or SMS from a specific phone #?
I know how to use filters to stop getting specific emails on my bb, but is there a way to block a specific phone# from calling? or a way to block a specific phone# from sending SMS texts to my bb? (Verizon/8130/v4.3.0.60)

I saw some stuff about blocking numbers and those apps;
first, my carrier (Verizon) doesn't do it;
With that 'black & whitelist' app, do you know if you can Just use the blacklist and let all other calls through? I don't want to make a list of everyone that Can call me just a few that I don't want to be able to..and I want calls to come through from a random #s so I don't want to do that 'only address book' setting either..
As far as SMS, I know about the general filters but I definitely don't want to stop all SMS! I just want to block SMS from a speicific phone #...?

Ok I just downloaded & installed 'black & whitelist', it appears that its an either/either/or situation you can pick 1 of these three settings:
1. blacklist (all calls come through except numbers on the black list)
2. white list (no calls come through except numbers on the white list)
3. address book (no calls come through except if they are in your address book)
So I can block the calls from a specific # that way (although that software is $15 and I was hoping there was a free method..)
What about blocking SMS from a specific # though?

Its not explained very well on their website and the app isn't very pretty either, it works though...
So when u open the app it doesn't seem like you can do anything right? The trick is you add the names From your address book not in the app...
Go to your call log or address book, so the name you want to block or allow is highlighted, then press Menu >> Black & White list >> (then you have two checkboxes which are: 'add ____ to blacklist' or 'add ____ to whitelist')
Now open the app again, you will see the names listed for blacklist/whitelist.. as I explained above you need to choose 1 of the three options to be 'Active'; that change Is done in the app:
'Black & White List' >> Menu >> Change block rule >> (then choose one of the 3 options)
...any ideas for blocking an individual # for SMS guys???

...any ideas for blocking an individual # for SMS guys??? | Is this a freeware program? i know it was posted above that its $15, but i thought i read in on of the links above that it doesnt cost anything.
its not working on my phone. from my phone log, when i'm on the number that i want to block, i press menu > 'black & white list', i get an error message: 'Warning! Unknown object type:null'
i tried installing OTA as well as downloading the zip file to my desktop.
i dont mind paying for it, i'm just wondering if i'm doing something wrong.
thanks

Yes, I plan to have compatible version for 8130 and 8703e.
I'll start working on 8130 and 8703e on May'08.
On April I'll focus on iCall full version. For development progress, please visit i,softwarelabs: A Call Screener blueprint for Blackberry phone.

Regarding the "Black & White List" program...does anyone know if there is a way to have the "Blacklisted" calls NOT go to voice mail? But just be disconnected alltogether? I don't want to get their VM's either!!! Thanks!
