Default Telus and AIM!!!

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a blackberry pearl 8130 from Telus and I was wondering if it's possible to download aol messenger to the phone and how to do this? Also what about windows live messenger? thank you.

i've tried the blackberry.com/livemessenger on my 8130 with telus and tried to download it and i had a notice saying: Sorry, your device does not mett the system requirements that are needed to support Windows Live Messenger.

For your device with Telus, MSN will only work with 3rd party program like IM+, etc. Yet, Telus didn't make a contract with MSN messenger for blackberry. If you go take a look at Bell, you can have MSN, but you'll have to pay 10$/month which is non sense... So the best way for you is to go find out free programs which will make you be able to chat on msn through your BlackBerry or the easiest thing, buy IM+ which I recommend you (price: 44,95$). It worth it if you chat a lot.

Edit: go try webmessenger for blackberry. It's now free, tell me about it ! just google it

If you want to install any apps you'd first have to go to blackberry.com and download the Device Software update. Installing the desktop manager alone won't cover it. Took me a few days of sleuthing to figure that one out. I recommend IM+, working like a dream for me.
