Default Shake it baby!

Okay, I have a blackberry and I've had a few battery issues...battery with red line through it...battery with lightening bolt and not charging - I searched the forums and did the battery pulls, battery pull while charging and nothing worked - My stepdaughter's boyfriend who is 17 years old, took out my battery and held it in his hand and shook it for a minute and voila, my battery came back to life...just though I'd share!

That is interesting. Never heard of that. Hopefully someone will post with the explanation of why that worked.

he said it gets the acid flowing and the heat from your hand helps too...makes sense to me, although I have troubleshooted(?) blackberrys and always knew about the battery pull, but this was the first I heard of shaking it and I was about ready to throw two batterys through the window! lol

Hah, that's nice to know! From personal experience, I know that the battery with the red line through it means that the battery isn't meant for the BlackBerry you inserted the battery into. Ex. putting a Curve's battery into a 8830 will result in that icon.

The battery with the red line was the original that came with the Pearl....the other one was a replacement for the Pearl and shaking them both worked! : )

Very interesting. Didn't think Lithium Ion batteries had acid in them, but who knows, I've been wrong before Glad it worked for you. Don't shake it too hard

I know old nicad batteries needed to be dropped from a standing height every so often. Didn't even think about shacking or dropping the lithium batteries.
