Default T Mobile & Sim Card Not Supplied.. Help?

I was working for a company from Colorado. They did not supply a suitable phone for company use, and were using the T Mobile network. I purchased a 8320 Curve for use on that network at a T Mobile store. When I told the clerk I was going to use the chip from phone the company had supplied to access the company number etc. He told me he would be keeping the SIM chip the new BB phone came with.

Is this normal or a common practice? Isnt the SIM serialized to the phone?

I am not working for that same company and now need a sim card and they tell me they wont replace the card I feel I paid for?

Thanks for any guidance

well your old one will work in the new phone. When ever i have gotten a new phone with T mobile (been with them for 8 years) i have never gotten a new sim card with the phone. The SIM is not serialized to the phone. It was not even activated. They will use it for another customer.

Same with me, any new phones they would take the sim. Never a problem for me, but I see your issue and totally agree that they should supply you with one since the phone is initially sold with it.

Curious... did they say what it would cost to get a new one for you?

Err, if I read what you are saying here correctly, you purchased the Curve outright to use with your company phone number. Now, you need your own personal line to use with the phone, but have no sim card. If this is the case you just need to sign up for a new line of service, you will likely need to sign a contract, and they will give you a new sim card. No big deal. Even if you had that other sim card they would likely make you sign a contract (depending on the rate plan you choose). Enjoy.

They didn't take mine away... I already had a sim and when i bought a new one they never took it out of the box. If you bearly got the phone and are within the 30 days, they should replace it with a new sim.
