Question Latest OS for 8800?
What is the latest OS for a T-Mobile 8800?
A friend at work got one last week on eBay and it shows 4.2.1.74 - surely there is something better...

Carrier is unimportant. Just go to the 8800 forum, and get the latest.

And don't forget to delete the vendor.xml file per the instructions.
