Default Getting lower prices on data plans through Retentions?

I've been a T-Mobile customer for a long while now and since I've been happy, I haven't dealt with Retentions at all.

I was wondering if people have been able to go through retentions and get lower prices on the BB data plan...perhaps being able to go onto the grandfathered 19.99 plan?

I don't think they will put anyone in the $19.99 plan anymore. I got this plan a few weeks before they nixed it. I refered my mother to them a couple of months ago and she could not get the $19.99 plan.

But who knows? Some people have better luck than others. You may be able to get it if you bit*h enough, but if you are happy with them and they have done nothing wrong why not pay the extra $4.00? You get atleast 400 texts with this plan. No texts are included in the other. So it's not like you are paying $4.00 more for nothing.

I am really confussed about the $19.99 plan I thought you could still get it beacuse I know peoplehave gotten it within the last couple of weeks, and here I see it is being grandfathered...confussed.

It truly does come down to basic human interaction with things such as this. Depending on the representative you are talking with...depending on their willingness to help/their knowledge of past plans and services; and how that ties into being 'grandfathered' in...it will all lead up to whether you are allowed to be 'grandfathered' in.

I know people who weren't able to be grandfathered onto an old plan; because of changes in plan/product 'codes' in the system...however to get around that; the CS notated the customer's account to automatically reflect a credit of $5-10 at the end of each billing statement...in order to cicrcumvent the technicality of not being able to grandfather someone onto an old plan even thought the CS was willing to do it.

It's all contingent on your tenure as a customer with them; how many lines/services you have with them, how punctual you are with paying your bill in a timely manner with them...that most often determines whether they're willing to bend over backwards for you.

I was offered the $19.99 add-on a week ago when I ordered the 8900, it is grandfathered but can be extended to loyal accounts sometimes. It doesn't include any messages, so unless you don't plan to use SMS/MMS or already have a messaging bundle, not sure this is such a great value for you.

The only people that this plan really helps is if you are on a family plan with unlimited text for the family and multiple blackberrys. Otherwise if you are on a single plan and add the BB service you will most likely want messaging too

Exactly, it's basically just a forced bundle to increase ARPU.
