Default WIFI PAP Configuration

Good evening,

The wireless connection at the university I attend requires a TTLS connection. However, when selecting EAP-TTLS I see MS-CHAP v2 and EAP-MS-CHAP v2 as the inner link security options. Unfortunately the university network requires PAP as the inner link security option. Is there any way to configure the blackberry to authenticate via PAP?

Thank you in advance

Michael L

Try performing the following actions:
• Verify that you have turned on the connection to the Wi-Fi® network.
• Verify that you are in a Wi-Fi coverage area.
• If the Wi-Fi network does not appear in the Wi-Fi setup application and you know the network name, connect to the Wi-Fi network
manually.
• Verify that the connection options in the Wi-Fi setup application are correct. If you have already verified these options, verify that
the advanced connection options for the Wi-Fi network are correct.
• If you switched Wi-Fi networks manually, switch to another Wi-Fi network or set your device to scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
• If your wireless service provider supports UMA, verify that your connection preference is not set to Mobile Network Only.
• If you use PEAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-FAST, EAP-TTLS, or EAP-SIM to connect to a Wi-Fi network, verify that you have installed the root
certificate for the certificate authority server that created the certificate for the authentication server.
• If you use EAP-TLS to connect to a Wi-Fi network, verify that you have added your authentication certificate to your BlackBerry®
device.
...
This may help.

From what I can tell, EAP-TTLS and PAP combination are NOT supported on Blackberry. This renders my Blackberry WiFi useless on our corporate network. The iPhone users ARE, however, able to connect.

Are third party clients like the Odyssey client available? Does anyone know?

i would like to know.

i would also like to say that on the 9000, EAP TTLS works just fine, however PAP is not supported which in turn renders my school network useless...

Default Looking for the same fix....Concordia is busting my berry's balls

Hey,

Saw the post, knew the story, need the fix. If you get something good post it please, I'll do the same. I'm trying to figure out what we can do with some certificates maybe that come with the pre configured W2 client.

Anyhow let's pass on whatever we find.

Thanks
