I'm having an issue using DM for Mac. When I try and restore my new blackberry from a backup of my previous one, it gets to the "restoring mms messages" freezes then fails to continue restoring. Anybody know how to resolve this?

| | odd calendar sync problems
I have an 8830 running v4.5.0.138 software which I just updated today, the same day I began using desktop manager for mac. Contacts, tasks, and notes seem to sync just fine, but I am having massive problems with syncing iCal to the Blackberry. Regardless of what configuration I choose (sync everything, sync future events only, replace all items on this blackberry), I get 70-80% of the way through the sync before it hangs, and the desktop software stops responding. If I Force Quit, though, 8 times out of 10 the newly added appointments that I inserted as a test actually did sync (although the alarms do not). Any ideas on what is going on? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

When I first attempted the sync I had two iCal calendars plus my Google Calendar, but I wiped all of those and am now down to a single iCal calendar (which still gives me the same issues). I confess I'm ignorant as to how many CICAL(?) I have on my device.

What do you see options>advanced options>default services? make sure the default CICAL matches the email you use on your mac.

I am wanting the option to 1 way sync from my blackberry to my mac. The options are there for the PC version but not the mac version.

It doesn't match - the default CICAL is my @vzw.blackberry.net email address, which I never use. I can't seem to manually change this on my device to the correct address, though. I'm guessing this is something I need to do through desktop manager when I am next syncing... Thanks for the help so far!

Well, I decided to dig around in various settings anyway and deleted the never-used vzw account altogether. All CICAL entries are now gone and on my device the proper calendar entries remain. I'll have to wait until work on Monday to see if iCal sync now works on my Mac, but I have hope...

I have a Curve 8300. When I sync with my MacBook Pro I am missing about 25% of my music. My BlackBerry will not display some songs, albums or entire artists. When I simply drag and drop them into the device folder they show up but if I use the desktop manager they are ignored.
Under the "Sync Warning" window its says 79 files were not copied because they were not found or can not be cannot be played. Both statements I know to be false. Please help.

I guess what I am asking for is an option to only sync the mac from my 8900. There is an option for the PC but not the mac. Does this make sense? My main Outlook calendar is on a PC (work) and I make my changes there but I want to have the changes moved to the mac.

You say to make sure the CICAL matches the email you use on mac.
So on my Mac, I do not have any email set up. I just use Gmail from the Safari browser. All my calendar entries are on a "Home" calendar in iCal.
Should I rename "Home" to my email address? Is that how to match it up?
(I have the same problem in that when syncing calendar, it hangs around the 50% mark every time)
