Make sure that after you download the OS that you run/install it to your pc and delete vendor.xml file. The other things is make sure you downloaded the correct OS. If that I said is done correctly, there should be no problems.

I deleted vendor.xml when I upgraded to .55. The OS I downloaded was the Australia voda version. I am using DM v5...wait I see that the vendor file is back again...must be from the new OS installed. Let me try this again but I think that's the fix I needed.

Everytime you download a new OS, you have to delete vendor.xml. That is attached to the OS.

.81 battery drain is much less than .69. I have no issues with volume. onboard free memory hanging around 16 which was better than .69.

I also downloaded docs to go this time around and it's pretty cool. Much happier with this OS.

.81 is awesome, it is very quick and i love all the little changes here and there. Only problem i run in to is Weather Eye cant detect my network settings anymore. This happened with .69 too. Has this happened to anyone else? Any info would be appreciated.

I am in the process of installing this. It went through all of the loading an such and now it is at the point where it is saying connecting to device and the scroll bar is going across UBER slow and the curve is powered on with the hour glass just spinning around. Is this normal?

I just upgraded yesterday afternoon (using this post), and I've had no problems except the fact that twice in the past 24 hours I have found my phone to be powered off, and nothing will turn it on except a battery pull. Has anyone else run into this? If it continues for me I think I'll downgrade back to the original OS.

I havent really tested it but just from a little observation, .81 seems to sound better than .69. I have all my volume settings set on high, with 4.2, I had all my settings on medium. Plus, i only had .69 for a day before i upgraded to .81, so i guess i dont have a lot to compare to. I guess i would say .81 is better than .69 but neither one is better than 4.2, sound wise that is. Sorry i couldnt be more help.

I had this problem as well...

Try opening the browser, go to options, open browser configuration and make sure that emulation mode is set to blackberry.

For some reason I set mine to microsoft IE and couldn't get the links to google maps, when I remember doing so I went to set it back to blackberry and it worked.

Yes it's normal. This is the part of the upgrade that takes the longest.

My one and only problem is that i cant get Weather Eye to work, other than that, its all good. I think navigation is a little quicker on .81 than on .69. I think you should give .81 a try and judge for yourself. If it doesnt work out for ya then stick with .69. But im sure you'll stick with .81.
