Update went smooth!

I can tell a difference all around but mostly with the browser. I did have to reload BB Weather but everything else came right back even the memory card. I took it out before I loaded the OS.

Well worth the time spent!

Next to the download it says (east asia) Does this mean the mirror is there, or this is not an american operating system? Just want to make sure before I install it.

It's not a mirror, it's for an east asia carrier, Indosat is an Indonesian provider. I think it means it has language support for east asia. There should be an english only download.

OS's are device specific, not carrier specific or language specific.

I updated last night, went smoothly for the most part, but it doenst seem to want to connect to the internet over the network now... anyone else have this problem?

Resend the service books. You may have to use your backup from Desktop Manager if it won't connect to the internet.

From a memory leak standpoint, this release seems to be the most stable yet.

hey everybody
i realize im seriously out dated...currently using v.s. 4.2.2.180. im tyring to upgrade but im stuck on step 6-how do i find the vendo.xml file?

For Windows XP it should be located here after installing the OS on your PC:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

It depends on what OS is currently on your BB, Options > Status, 3rd line. If it says OS 4.5.0.81 (most likely) then the only advantage is more stable memory (less memory leaks). If it's OS 4.2. then the new features you will have include HTML email, video camera and some others that I can't remember because it's been so long since I updated to OS 4.5.
