Default Free IM program

Ok i am positive this has been asked and all. I checked all the links in the popular links sticky as well. Does anyone here know of a completely free IM program that can be used for hotmail contacts? I mean no paying what so ever.

IMO Instango is the best of the group. But you should keep in
mind that everything listed above uses data to send and receive.

Yeah, for me Instango has the cleanest and most user friendlly
interface of all the others. And yes it is entirely free on my
carrier. Used it extensively for six or so months and my bill never
changed.

Bell, I am assuming is a Canadian carrier so I can't address
whether or not it will be completely free, but I would think it
would be as you have unlimited data.

I only have wifi and found that instango has issues connecting. It says available on aim, but none of my buddies are logged in, yet when I log in on my desktop they are. I have it set to use wifi but it appears as though it won't. I have data disabled as I do not have a data plan. Are there ANY im clients that actually work on wifi only?
Palringo gave wouldn't connect at all, but it had no way to select wifi.

I think aim in general is not working right for mobile.
