Where on my phone can i go to see what number OS my phone is presently?

Alt-R.Shft-h will tell you. Also, you can type "myver " with the blank and without the quotes in a message body and it will replace it with your device and OS version. Depending on the OS you are using, Options / About may or may not be available to you.
