Default Policy help

Hi,

I wonder if somebody can help me with an issue that I have.

An Employee recently left the company but was given his Blackberry. He now needs to have his contacts exported to a file, the problem is that his contacts on his blackberry are different to the contacts on his mailbox (now disabled). We can't backup the blackberry, due to the restrictive policy that we use which is still on the device. We can re-enable his exchange and bes account if need be but don't wan't to reactivate as his contacts on the BB are different.

So basically is there any way to remove the policy or put a blank policy on his device without wiping it, we can then backup the contacts and export to .csv.

The easiest answer is to tell him where to go, afterall he no longer works here, however this is more of a favour for a very high ranking employee and you never know when these contacts can come in handy ;-)

Thanks in advance fo any help.

Ben

If the Blackberry he has is with ATT, or any other carrier that is GSM, he can move all the contacts from the device's internal memory to the SIM card.

problem solved. =)

If it's not, you'll need to search on here for "it policy" and that should give you enough information on removing the policy from the device and set a blank one.. then you can use the Desktop Manager to export the contacts.
