I found that using just a drop of hand sanitizer on the ball got rid of whatever dirt there was and it works perfectly now.

Replacement trackballs are less than $5 on ebay and it takes less time to put in (and less tech knowledge) than it does to order one. Piece of cake. I just put in two new ones. Took less than 2 minutes each with only a knife.

Ya i used a compressed air keyboard cleaner and it fixed it

it comes from having dirty fingers when you touch your phone. It's cheap and easy to replace.

I had the tracker ball problem with my Pearl.
Tried what you said with my BB upside down and it worked perfectly!!!

My blackberry trackball won't scroll up, it just started doing it last night! It will scroll if I push down on it but then it ends up choosing whatever icon it is on before scrolling up which is most annoying! I took out the trackball and cleaned it. The first time, it wouldn't scroll down anymore either! The second time, it scrolled down again but still won't scroll up properly. I've tried flipping it over and scrolling and pushing down hard and scrolling. Still acting goofy. Any more tips before I bring it into the store??

i have same prob i guess this is why bb is getting rid of the trackball

rubbing alcohol works pretty good too

My sister has had 3 pearl flip bbs and every single one has had track ball issues. The first lasted 1 month. The 2nd didn't scroll up the day it arrived. The 3rd one is 2 weeks old and is having the same issue. We cleaned the track ball. It didn't help one bit. All 3 of them have been extremely slow and freeze way too often with no additional apps or pictures or anything. The pearl flip would be a good kids phone! I wouldn't buy one. I have a curve 8530 and after an os update, it works beautifully!

After trying all the tricks...

I just used a drop of hand sanitizer and bingo I'm back up and running.

Trackball is the weakest link!

Hi everybody, I`m Simon from Mexico; My trackball is only scrolling up and down on the last 2 colums of the rigth side of the screen. What can I do. I dont think it`s a dust problem.
