Ok, I'm having a problem where the Bluetooth options are greyed out. I have read through this and other threads with no luck. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with built in Toshiba Bluetooth drivers. When I open the bth.inf file, my Bluetooth device (Dell Wireless 350) is listed in there already. When I look at the firewall on my phone, it is disabled. I can pair my phone to the laptop, but only as a modem. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

umm i would find out what services your bt adapter supports as your phone. for the phone i would go to bluetooth options where you would pair a device and hit the menu key then go to options then scroll down to see what services your phone supports. in mine i can check and uncheck certain services. make sure the ones you want are checked. but as stated before u need to use the actual windows bt drivers or you wont be able to sync it with the comp. also i would go into the toshiba and make sure you have the latest drivers and see whats supported

Windows immediately detected the 350 radio. It then loaded the Windows bluetooth stack for the 350. Everything works great now. The issue is the Toshiba drivers. Windows XP with sp 2 or Windows XP pro with sp 3 has the necessary bluetooth stack to run the 350. Just make sure your software is up to date. Good luck!

Right now the issue I'm having is that the device connects but it doesn't start syncing in the desktop manager, it gets stuck with the certificates part.

I read eveerything here and on Rim site and tried them all. Finally I read here to try dleting everything and redoing it. So I delted the 4 items in device manager that were not working. Then I let it install all over agin like it says here and guess what, it worked. For the first time I could get to the bluetooth part of DM and set it up. When I conect to the computer it still tries to load drivers for the storm but I told it to not try anymore. I am synced both ways now if I would like. Thank you Crackberry.

Thanks for the fix!

I am really having problems getting a bluetooth connection that will allow bluetooth sync and could use some help. Yes I have read this thread and everything else I can find.
I can install the Toshiba stack and get a bluetooth connection but then obviously BB desktop manager won't recognize the connection. But when I uninstall the Toshiba software, there is nothing there. It's like my computer has no bluetooth functionality at all unless I install the Toshiba software.
I even did an upgrade from Vista to Win 7 hoping it would resolve the bluetooth issue (I did this while the Toshiba stack was uninstalled) and it didn't change anything.
FYI, I'm doing this on a notebook PC that does not have built-in BT. I have a cirago dongle and a generic one from ebay that shows up as CSR. Both drivers install fine. And the really frustrating thing is that I was using BT sync on this computer with the Cirago dongle and it worked fine, but we lost the phone (8330). We replaced it with the same model but I could never get the connection to work with the new one.
I really don't get why this has to be so difficult. And if BB desktop will only work with the windows stack, how about a little app to tweak the settings so this isn't such an ordeal? Wouldn't that be nice?
Anyhoo, I'd really appreciate any advice on how to fix this. It almost seems like the windows stack is missing from my computer but I don't see what the fix is. If there is a way to download it and install it, I'm missing that. I also don't seem to have some of the files on my PC that I see mentioned in the threads about this.

| | Bluetooth Sync with Computer - Try this!!!
I had the same issue with my 8320 using both Windows XP and Vista on the latest SPs.
After numerous issue with other apps, I was able to finally get this working!!! I'm my case it was an IT policy that had my firewall locked down (Little Red Lock). Here's what I did to fix it.
Using JL Cmder (you'll need to look it up) since I can't add links yet.
I Made sure BB Desktop Manager (BBDM) was installed and on the latest version:
1. Connected and backed Up my 8320 using BBDM.
2. Downloaded JL_Cmder.
3. Extracted executable and ran it. It installed an exe on my Desktop.
4. Double-clicked the executable and followed the prompts. (If using Vista you'll need to right click and "Run as Administrator").
5. Selected option (5) Resettofactory - It Removed the IT Policy from the device and wiped all personal data while leaving the OS installed.
6. After the reboot I reconnected and restored my backup from BBDM.
After that I Opera Mini 5 and a few other Apps started working as designed with no IT policy errors (my original issue) and My BBDM found my 8320 and prompted for me to connect to it automatically. I selected yes entered a PIN on both the PC and my 8320 and it synced updating my device with my outlook info. I'm thinking it must have been some kind of firewall /IT issue preventing a proper bluetooth connection.
I forgot to mention, my 8320 is using the Newest OS 4.5.0.182 from AT&T (Multilanguage and EastAsia)
Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8320 smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.306 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 4.5.0.306
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.5.0.182
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.106
* File name: 8320M_PBr4.5.0_rel306_PL2.7.0.106_A4.5.0.182_AT_am p_T.exe
* File size: 92.26MB
Good Luck!

Newbie here. I have a new BB Tour and a new Vaio. Trying to transfer contacts, calender, etc... from my BB to my computer via Bluetooth without success. The two are connected and I am able to listen to music and ringtones from my blackberry on my computer and I can also transfer pictures but when I open Desktop Manager, I have the error message "Before you begin, verify that your current device is connected to your computer." Any suggestions?

Ok here is my problem.
Storm 2 connects to computer with bluetooth and starts to sync. It syncs contacts without an issue then "an unexpected error" pops up and it all goes to **** after that.
Anyone?

I'm yet another guy who can't seem to get bluetooth syncing working with my Blackberry.
Here's the culprits in question:
Laptop: Lenovo N100 with built-in Bluetooth, running the latest drivers from Lenovo, Broadcom driver 6.2.0.1417.
Windows Vista w/all the latest updates, service packs.
Blackberry 8900 with OS v5.0.0.461
Blackberry Desktop Manager v5.0.1
I go into the Bluetooth page in Vista, and I pair the Blackberry to the Laptop. I enter in the same passcode in both the PC and Blackberry. The laptop appears in the list of Bluetooth known devices on the Blackberry, and vice versa.
In the connections page on the blackberry, Bluetooth switches to ON, then connected, then disconnects, continuously. After a few minutes of this, it just stays disconnected.
In Blackberry Desktop manager, in connections options -> configure Bluetooth, no paired devices show up.
I had this working in the past, and decided I wanted to use a Bluetooth stereo with the latop, which required widcomm Bluetooth drivers to function. After making this change, blackberry syncing by Bluetooth quit working. I then removed the Widcomm drivers, installed the factory Lenovo drivers, and still no dice.
Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
Joe.

| | Can you use Bluetooth connection as internet provider?
I was at best buy and a nice young man was trying to show me how to hook my phone up to their I-pad by bluetooth. I have a T-mobile 8900. I got a bluetooth dongle for my computer, Gateway with Vista Standard in it. I finally got it so that the computer sees my phone and hooks up to it. I can synch and back up and restore but thats all.
How do I get it to connect for use for internet? I can get it to dial and I get to where it verifies the password and user name?? (none given in box and then it hangs up) any ideas??
I would appreciate the help I have a Storm That I would of loved to been able to do this with but had no idea how to connect.
Thanks for any advice.
