Default newbie Map application question

Hi everyone,
Can I get any map application(googlemaps preferably) downloaded to my Storm (via desktop/and where can I get it) because my plan does not include browser time and if yes, will it work just as maps only(not interested in GPS functions) without needing any type of regular updates or data usage??

My wife has googlemaps on her Pearl without a data package and it works...(it was already on the phone when she got it.......so I'm not sure where to get it. The google maps website does not give the option of downloading to my PC (or at least I can't find it....thanks guys

Google Maps requires a data connection to download maps as needed in real time. It doesn't cache them on your phone beyond the session in which they are used. I cannot explain how Google Maps is working on your wife's Pearl. You should check with your carrier to make sure you are not incurring a large data charge if she is using Google Maps regularly.
