Default World's First Authorized Multi-Carrier BlackBerry Store Opened by Wireless Giant

This is handy. This first store will be opened to test the success of the concept.

New store includes the most comprehensive offering of BlackBerry Smartphones, software and services.

Wireless Giant® is pleased to announce it is opening the world's first authorized multi-carrier BlackBerry® retail store today in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

At a VIP Grand Opening event, which will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, industry and community leaders will gather to celebrate the opening and gain hands-on experience with the latest BlackBerry products and services from Research In Motion (RIM).

The BlackBerry® Store from Wireless Giant is a multi-carrier store where BlackBerry smartphones from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless can be purchased and activated for use with BlackBerry® Internet Service and BlackBerry® Enterprise Server. The store also offers training services for both end users and IT administrators from companies and organizations of all sizes. Customers will also find a range of add-on software applications and personal accessories for their BlackBerry smartphone.

"We have invested considerable effort in the planning and implementation of this new retail concept and we think customers will be very pleased with the result. We are proud to work with RIM as well as our own team of highly passionate and driven individuals. At this store, customers will be able to select from the widest variety of BlackBerry smartphones and accessories and trained specialists will be available to answer their questions," said Hanna.

Why Michigan? Why not NY or CA? Is the market for Blackberrys greater there?

Luigi

Edit: Oh: "This new BlackBerry® Store from Wireless Giant is located in Michigan, near the Wireless Giant national headquarters and close to a high concentration of current and potential customers for BlackBerry products and services. "

Default Money and convenience to be had...

Not for nothing...but they would make so much money if they rolled these out to major metro areas. Its a perfect idea because so many of the carrier retail stores have no clue about their devices past how to turn them on and get voicemails.

It would also be cool for people to be able to go there to update their OS's, or even backup their berries. Some people run Macs only so it would alleviate that issue.

The possibilities are endless!

Yeah, even though I found the answer, I said the same thing to myself. Well, with the success of the iPhone and of course thier stores/support, I think all manufactures may jump aboard and follow suit. I see this with Nokia and Motorola especially as well. I guess they have to test somewhere and I hope they are shopping for real estate in the metro areas (NY, CA, FL, IL).

I will never even attempt an Iphone, no thank you! My big thing is I need to be able to dial out straight away if there is an emergancy. I do love the touch screen option though...

As for the store, I want one here in Arizona! A store full of blackberrys, oh the joy! Oh the bliss!

I have no interest in the iPhone because it is not a serious business tool. It can't interact with the BES and it can't interact with ActiveSync.

The BES is our officially supported platform but we also offer ActiveSync as a convience for those who want to pay for their own data plans.
