^^ i think i would perfer to exhaust all other options before i do that, since its a good 2+ hours to downgrade, upgrade again...

and i don't think that helps my fonts issue either...(which i think is the default now...unless a theme comes out that covers it up)

the one im most curious about is the stupid LED light. its not flashing, its just on.

Default Upgrade to 4.5, not for me

I just download the vodafone release 4.5 for the 8100, after the upgrade and the reboot, BB shows a message that says "Uncaught Exception, JavaLang...", just hit OK and seems to work.
But the problem is, it is rebooting every 4 to 5 minutes , any idea why?

I just downgrade to 4.2 because of this , if this problem has a solution, i'd stay with the 4.5 'cause i like the interface, mail, sms, new media look.

If you backup memory card, remove it, then wipe device, then install update. After update is done reinsert mem card and reformat it. Then copy backup onto card. Long process, but stopped resets on my tmobile 8100.

Default Up and Running

Just got my T-Mobile Pearl (8100) yesterday and updated to the Vodaphone 4.5 firmware last night. It was SLOW going, to the point that I thought it had really screwed up at one point when the Desktop Manager took almost an hour to "Connect to Phone". It was also very slow going last night for about an hour after the install; I got the hourglass about every 30 seconds. I'm glad to say that was the extent of my issues. I'm running perfectly fine with no delays today. MyFaves still works (I was a bit worried about that), as do all my installed programs. The new browser interface is nice, as is the whole overall UI with the new font. The new Media interface is really nice too. I have yet to receive an HTML email, so I can't comment on that (but we all know that HTML email is the biggest reason to update). All in all, it's much slicker, just as fast (if not a bit faster), and better featured. The couple of hours killed last night doing the update was well worth it!
