jimmers: we are on the same page I think, just saying it in different ways.
Nonetheless, and against my better judgment I'm going to load it just to see what it does.

Excellent stuff *downloads*

Just read on another site that if you have colourpearl on your 8100 to uninstall it before upgrading as its playing havoc with installation as its not compatible with 4.5

Call me cautious but why can't I find this vodaphone release on the Blackberry support site carrier list? This the same .exe file of the beta .37 I downloaded and decided to not install.

My apologies. Not the same .exe as the beta. Sorry but my BB is my baby and I fear harming her.

Could anyone please confirm whether the links provided by the OP are official RIM's release of the 4.5 os?

It just sounds too good to be true IMO. And I don't want to screw up my BB.

I don't think so. There is quite a lot of differences vetween 8300 and 8320.

Well I hope there is 1 more step beyond .42 for the 8320 since I have at least 1 bug that I have found.

Exactly the same problems I had with Beta .37 and .42

TellMe restarts BB
Opening and closing browser restarts browser
Errors galore.
Massive decline in memory (even after optimize)
Dropped calls

I think my BB is possessed

I had just purchased a BB Pearl 8100 (at&t unlocked) for a friend to be used on Rogers. I decided that it would be a good test to do the upgrade on my friend's BB since it was pretty much a blank anyways.

I have the colorpearl application installed and did not uninstall it prior to the upgrade. The unit was running 4.2-something. Anyhow, the upgrade went pretty smooth (took about 40 minutes) which I was a bit surprised as there was not much user data on the unit. Prior to the install, I also modified the blackberry.alx file to unlock all the themes.

I know some have commented there has been some performance improvements; however, it did not look that way to me. But then again, my regular BB is a 8310 Curve.

It seems to take a long time in booting up (after a battery pull). I also found it slow when changing themes. Not sure if this is a normal thing with the 8100 Pearl. Also seem to take a while just setting a replacement desktop background.

Garz- Of course I read the OP, I should've asked if since it is a Vodafone OS I could do it having ATT. I just wanted to double check, I already nuked my BB once trying those Beta stuff and don't want to happen again.
