Default PeeKaWho Beta v1.163

Thanks to your input and participation from this forum thread

Beta v1.163 is out now:

Point your bb here: http://www.smrtguard.com/download/1163/421/peek.jad

Changelog:
- SMS/Email LED Alerts
- Able to change colors on email/sms LED alerts
- Able to enable / disable LED Alerts
- LED Alerts and Popup alerts are separate (more below in the tip area)
- Always On allow will popup in holster / Locked / USB, when it is unchecked, popup will show only when the screen is idle or BB is in use.
- Preference to switch between default popup text color or "PeeKaWho chosen" colors

Couple of Power Tips using the new version to your advantage:

Email LED will come on if you miss 2 emails in a row.

You have the choice of SMS LED and EMAIL LED alerts separately from Popup. If you just want Popup and no LED, uncheck the "Enable LED" options. Likewise, if you just want the LED, leave the "Enable LED" option checked, and uncheck "Enable Email" and "Enable SMS".

Also, popup also shows even if your screen is locked, or your BB is in holster. You can turn this off by unchecking "Always Display". If you like to see popup after you unlock your screen or take your BB out of the holster, we suggest you uncheck "Auto Fade Popup".

In addition, if you like LED to stayon until you read the popup, we also suggest you leave the "Auto Fade Popup" unchecked. Currently, LED turns off when popup is dismissed (manually or automatically).

Now those of you who are asking, "What if I turn off popup but have the LED on, how do I turn off LED?" Good question, for now, there is a timer that will turn off LED if disable the popup but have LED on.

Again, problem/suggestion post here or send to betasupport@smrtguard.com.

Cheers!

Does this support Follow up? I had to delete the first beta because when I downloaded it I lost Follow up. I would still like to have both. Thanks

Oh, and it still woke up outa standby with the always display box checked.

Not happy, switching back.

If you want FollowUp! back, you would have to stick w/ a stable version of the PeeKaWho for now. Once we have fully released then we will support both.

Here is the combo download for the stable version:

PeeKaWho - Email Notifier

Thanks.

PS- sorry about that, should have warned you about it.

Rachel,

We want to make it work with other SMS type program, but that requires both company to work together and program in "inter-program" communication so if PeeKaWho consumes SMS, it can "broadcast" out to others 3rd party program. Since I have not really heard from BB Alert (we have not contacted them either), we can only make it work around other 3rd party SMS apps:

1. You can turn off SMS Popup in PeeKaWho, restart your berry, this should make other 3rd party SMS app run again.

2. You can turn off the LEDs in PeeKaWho, this will behave as normal as before.

Hope that helps.

Thanks.

When you are combining applications with similar functionality ie: enabled LED lights and such you are pretty much bound to run into issues/conflicts...too many apps trying to function with one purpose can never be good, which is why I stick to one that maintains all functions.

As for this update I'm quite impressed with the functionality and even more impressed @ the fact the bug I submitted has been taken care of.

Keep up the great work.

Since I cannot get 1.163 working with my BBAlerts vs sms, I have sms pop up disabled, LED disabled, tried battery pulls etc, I have ONE favor to ask, since the others that requested LED were accomodated, and it screwed US with BBAlertsup, in version 1.161 can you make THAT application color pop up for Email like the new (white, orange, blue) also, make always display work on that version too, I want it to NOT pop up when in standby, if you make these 2 changes to 1.161 I will be forever grateful, I dont even care or want to mess with the LED stuff anymore, I know it wont work regrdless, but would like what I want added to 1.161

I know what you are saying, however, I did purchase BBAlerts first, KWIM? So its always worked for me, until this version, which I knew would override and mentioned that in the other thread too.

Rachel, when you change those settings in v1.163, did you press the escape key so it saves (see the "Saving..." popup? When we were building the LED function, we made sure that you can separate LED Alerts and Popups. We want to make this work for you in v1.163 so we don't have 2 versions of code. Also, if you are sticking w/ v1.161, use v1.162, it has one bug fix from 1.161.

Thanks.
