Default Palm Desktop To Blackberry Contacts conversion

Greetings all,

Ive been a LONG standing user of the Palm Desktop/Palm platform for 9 years. I am curious what is the best conversion software out there that can convert my contacts from my Treo to my blackberry. Currently I am using my BB 7520 (Work issued) which I will use as a nice trial to see if I can get my PIM stuff in there well enough for it to be useable. If its successful. I'll convert my own treo to a BB 8830 which looks pretty dam sexy to me. Any help/advice/anything would be helpful.

Freeware is obviously preferable but I won't discount looking into pay software.
Thanks all!

I used a product I got from handango called Pocket copy--it was about 25 bucks, but worth every penny of it. It switched my data like a charm with zero problem......I looked for freeware, but I trust handango, so I was willing to spend the money.

Do you not use Outlook at present to sync with you Palm, or strickly the Palm Desktop software?

I thought from the Palm software there was an export option, no? I wonder if you could export it, and then import elsewhere...

I am a strict Palm Desktop guy. And Yes there is a export/import option which I export to .csv to import to a special service that I use (GrandCentral). But I am in the process of snagging Outlook Express via a company APPs server and going to install it.. For I am not a fan of Microsoft I will see if its functionality can match what Palm Desktop can do for me. time will tell

I got the blackberry pearl and when i loaded the software on my desktop - there was a feature to sync from something other than blackberry. So i hooked my treo up at the same time and it sank it all to my blackberry! And I don't know anything about this syncing stuff - so if i could do you - you all can do it!!

Default Palm to outlook conversion

I tried for several hours to convert Palm address and memos to Outlook.
Finally purchased a copy of Pocketcopy from Handango and 15 minutes later everything was done! Money well spent ($25)

i changed the sync setting on my palm desktop, to sync with outlook, and then sync'd my treo 1 more time, and everything was in outlook. Then i simply sync's the curve to outlook, took about 5 min for me. I have the office 2003 version of outlook.

In the newer version of PD that came with my treo, there was something under programs palm sync with outlook. In the older version from my tungsten, i think you had to do it with the install CD.

Default Conversion from Palm with user defined contact fields

I had been skeptical of converting from the Palm to the Blackberry because my contacts often use one or more of the up to 9 user defined contact fields. Also, I have fax's, emails, phones, etc. and sometimes multiple instances of them depending on the contact.

Will PocketCopy handle all the fields in the Treo and find a place to put them in the Blackberry?

if so then maybe it's time to switch!

Default PocketCopy doesn't work on the Blackberry Storm?

I looked at the Handango site but it says that PocketCopy is not compatible with the Verizon Blackberry Storm. So is the answer to sync the Palm with Outlook and then do a typical link between Outlook at the Blackberry? (eg. don't use any special utility like PocketCopy?)

Hi...(Palm Treo > Storm)

Don't use Outlook. Is there any software that simply bridges between the Palm desktop & a Storm?

Thanks

* had no problem w/initial data transfer to Storm, seamless
