I accepted an invitation and now I'm seeing this message, too. If there's any possibility that events are not properly being synchronized, that is bad. Plus the message is an irritant.

I cleared my calendar, uninstalled Google Sync, deleted the event that I was invited to and made my own event, deleted the service books, then downloaded Google Sync and re-synchronized the calendar. All the events are correct now, but the error message returned.

Has anyone had any luck with getting rid of this message permanently? I do not sync with anything other than my Google calendar, and my BB is never hooked up to the computer. The Google calendar also syncs with my MS Exchange Server (govnt). All this was fine until I accepted an invitation from another Google user who happened to be on their personal e-mail instead of government e-mail. Help is appreciated. Thanks. -B

Smile Facebook calendar too..

What most people don't remember is the if you're using Facebook, it'll sync that calendar as well. Google realizes that it didn't put that new (Facebook) entry there and says "I'm not syncing that to Google or we may get duplicates.."

It's not really anything to worry about unless you notice you're missing entries. But the message is annoying, yes.

I resolved the problem for my BB 8330 by opening Google Sync> Options> Sign Out. Let it take all of your synced info off of your device. Then close Google Sync. Next, go to Options> Advanced Options> Applications. Find Google Sync on the list, press the option button, and delete it. You'll be prompted for a restart. Do this. After your phone has rebooted, go to Google Mobile using your BB's browser. Choose "Install Now" and follow the onscreen instructions. After that, open up Google Sync and log in. Set up your sync preferences, and VOILA! Error message is gone, all events are synced.

Oh yeah, and the fix I posted worked even with my Facebook app still syncing to my calendar the whole time.

Default Uninstall Google Sync, Same Message?

I know this thread is kind of old but it ranks #1 in Google for the error message. I uninstalled Google Sync and re-install it and I IMMEDIATELY get the same message with Google Sync.

It seems to sync the data once I re-install, but after that my Google Cal items don't make it to my blackberry or vice versa.

I am not using Facebook - uninstalled long ago. Checked my email addresses under advanced options - only my gmail.

What is the long term solution?

I just noticed this as well. Possibly another software issue like we saw a few months back when google sync wasn't working at all?

This sounds like what I just went through... I am no longer using FB on my BB and uninstalled, but I was still plagued with its calendar and thus, the "another sync client..." message.

This is what finally worked:

FIRST (to change the default CICAL):
------------------------------------
1. Go to "Options" on your BB (wrench icon)
2. Choose "Advanced Options" --> "Default Services"
3. Choose the calendar you want to be your default CICAL from the list. You will probably still see "Facebook" in this list, so be sure to choose something other than this.

NEXT (to remove the Facebook calendar):
----------------------------------------
1. Go back under "Options"
2. Choose "Advanced Options" --> "Service Books"
3. Remove references to Facebook here... I had TWO references, one was specifically to the Facebook CICAL

When I went back to Google Sync, I no longer had the error! Wanted to shout it from the mountain tops, I tell ya... good riddance! Hope this works for y'all too.

I realize this is a very old thread - but it still comes up high on google search. I FINALLY solved the problem with my phone. When you set up gmail on your phone, you have the option to sync your contacts and calender. If you select that, there is no need for the google sync application. Just go to email settings, make sure contacts and calender sync are checked off, delete google sync, and your blackberry calender and google calender will be in sync. Hope this helps someone because it is quite frustrating!

I have that error message ... and I was getting multiple occurrences of my calendar. As I was trying to fix it I even almost lost my entire phone book *ACK*

ANYWAY ... it all started when I set up Gmail to deliver to my BB Curve and I finally found a fix and it was in the email client! Hopefully this helps some of you

- Go to the icon "email settings" where you initially set up your email account.
- Choose your email address and select to edit
- You will find an expandable menu for "Synchronization Options"
- Un-select Calendar and Contacts

NOTE: this worked for me. I was already using google sync for contacts and calendar so now gmail was trying to sync them a second type, creating a multiplying factor, every time one synced the other would.

It seems that you can also choose gmail to manage your contacts and calendar via your email client. However you would have to then stop using google sync.

I am a little gun shy to try to do that now after 2 days of stress and not wanting to go back to work without my Calendar! But when I am feeling braver I might give that a try just to reduce the number of programs running on my phone.

Cheers

There has to be some solution out there by now. I think I saw that this thread went all the way back to 2008!

This same message started showing up on my BB earlier this month, and I have no idea why. Interesting that it's been an issue for years, and no one at BB or Google or whereever hasn't resolved it yet.

What's even weirder (to me, anyway) is the unclear impact of whatever the author of that message meant: what events are not being kept up to date: the ones on my BB going to my Google account, vv, or something else?

Should I worry about the message or ignore it?
