I'm having trouble getting anyone to answer my question. I posted the following on the 3rd Party Software forum and am not getting any response: [I]I downloaded the trial version of BBSmart Alarms Pro successfully and the software is working fine. However, I have a problem and wonder if it has to do with the trial version vs. buying the software. I have a song on my SD card and am trying to use it for the alarm. This song plays fine on my BlackBerry Curve 8320, but when I bring that file into the BBSmart Alarms Pro program and hit the "Test Alarm Sound" button, nothing happens. I've already changed the configuration to permit third-party applications, but I still don't get sound on that test - or for the alarm after I've brought the song into the Alarm program. I emailed support@blackberrysmart.com but have not heard back. Can anyone help?

Count me as another customer who has been without the app since November. My emails haven't been answered either (well, not since November and I've sent two since then (one offering help/expertise to test the beta in the JDE with the simulator).

Hope they are doing ok and that they aren't dealing with adverse circumstances over there at BBSmart. Great app. No other timer/alarm application comes close to this one.

Anyone know if the license is transferable between devices? I had to get a replacement curve, which means a new pin, and the registration number doesn't work for the new pin. I can't find anything on BBSMart's website that says you need to purchase a new license.

I'd contact them. I've never had a developer refuse to give a new code for a device I upgraded to or got as replacement for the one I had at the time of purchase.

... another day, another day without BB Smart Alarms Pro on my device.

Anyone hear anything new? It is getting a bit frustrating, how long has it been now since the first 4.6 and 4.6.1 devices have been out?

and it is still being advertised as:

Requirements
BlackBerry® Operating System (OS) v4.2 or higher.
Compatible Devices
All BlackBerry® devices compatible.

Default Customer Service stinks!

I ended up figuring out my problem on my own. The technical help for BBSmart Alarms Pro stinks. Crackberry Customer Service was kind enough to contact them after I wrote and said no one was getting back to me. BBSmart Support emailed me and asked me a couple questions, to which I replied, waiting for the next step, but they never got back to me - very poor.

I received two emails stating that it would have been out already... Was this to keep me a loyal customer? I feel duped.

Now I decided to read up and see similar responses from different people... What's up with that?

Here are a couple of my emails...

Hi Duvi,

BBSmart Alarms Pro is not currently compatible with the BlackBerry Bold
however we do plan on releasing an update within a week or so to add in
compatibility.

If you have already purchased the software you will be automatically
notified by email when the update is released.

Thanks.

Best Regards,
Peter

Hi Duvi,

My apologies, there has been a bit of a delay with the rollout of the upgrade due to the holiday season. We definitely do anticipate the update will now be released within the next week.

Thanks.

Best Regards,
Peter

I am going to start using the calendar to accomplish this now.

I'm having the same problem, I thought it was because I only have the trial version. Did you get yours to eventually work?

Default BBSmart Alarms Pro 1.25

I recently found and downloaded via OTA the Free Trial version to my Storm 9530. Unfortunately, it does not PLAY any sound. I followed the instructions to adjust the permissions, and still no sound. I uninstalled, and tried installing again through Desktop Manager. As before, it installed well, but still NO SOUND. Does the free trial NOT allow for sound? Although I can click on the test sound button, it is grayed out. I decided to check other things, and suddenly find that when I open BBSmart Pro, still no sound, and now the keyboard comes up and WON'T go away, and there is no setting in menu to close/open the keyboard!

I so wanted to have this to work, as I absolutely hate the so-called alarm that came with my Storm. I would have purchased, had this worked. I'm not much for trying work-arounds if programs don't work properly after installation, but is there something to get this to properly and completely work, with sound, on my Storm?

I still use the only approved update to Storm, .75 version of OS. All other programs that I've installed have all worked. My sounds still works with other programs and music, etc. I'd appreciate any assistance. Thanks, Ken

Judging by the last half-dozen posts above mine, it seems to be just Storm users having trouble with sound.

I'm not up on how the Storm works and such, but does putting it in that thar compatability mode make any difference?
