Negative. Only a phone with wifi built in. Its hardware.

Hi there:

I am using unlock Bold with Tmobile without data plan. What do I do with this message:

"Your device does not currently have any Browser Configuration Service Book Entries. Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device."

It's useless if I cannot use the web with wifi.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sorry cannot find it.. And I'm often getting an 'XML not well formed' error message, even to pages designed for BBs, such as mobile.crackberry.com or viigo download page

Do you realize your posting 9000 questions in an 83xx thread.

You are definitely in the wrong place to look for an answer.

I have a Bold turned into t-mobile and lost the browser when I started using the wifi mode.I had to reinstall the browser via crackutil and tmo service books,it was kind of strange.ever since I'm a bit skeptical about using the wifi mode again.

Hi, I have a BB Bold and I have just been using the "Browser" from the main menu, I never realised there was any difference.

I have noticed that when I am connected to my WiFi network and browsing here, it shows the WiFi logo at the top, and when not on my network it displays 3G?

Am I correct in thinking that it automatically decides which browser to use, and I don't need to change my browsing habits?

Or should I be selecting different browsers for different tasks?

Thanks

Stewart

Default how to switch between browsers quickly?

Hi, BlackBerry newbie here, running a Bold on Vodafone. I have three browsers available: "Hotspot Browser" (Wi-fi) "Internet Browser" and "Vodafone Live!" (WAP). My default browser is set up as the Hotspot Browser, and it runs great when I have Wi-Fi coverage. But as soon as I get out of range I (unsurprisingly) get an error message when attempting to open a website: "This is a Wi-Fi service. Please ensure your device has an active Wi-Fi connection and try again."

I then have to go into Menu > Options > General Properties, set the Internet Browser as default and then back out to the main browser screen before I can reload the website. The whole process is a pain in the backside. I don't want to leave the Internet Browser as default as the Hotspot Browser is much quicker.

Here is my question: is there a quick and easy way to switch browsers? Ideally an automatic handover from Hotspot Browser to Internet Browser and back again. Or otherwise a keyboard shortcut or a second browser icon on my Home screen? The Vodafone Live WAP browser has its own separate icon, but that is a very expensive option.

Daniele

I have onlyh one complaint. And that is that my 8830we is just too slow when using the browser. I tried Opera-mini but the page is minimized and you have to scroll over it to enlarge it. Too difficult. Maybe my expectations are too high!!!

Guys I still have not understand the difference.. My Bold has Wind PLUS (My carrier), Hotspot browser & Internet browser.. I assume Hotspot should be selected when on WiFi, but i'm usually on 3g/GPRS and dont know which option to select in order to work.. Also getting often XML errors.. Is that an issue?

GREAT POST! i Have been looking for this exact info!

I have a storm on verizon.

I am haivng trouble downloading files larger than 5mb. like the crackberry podcast.

I am on my own BES Server. Can i make my BES server allow files to be downloaded larger than 5mb?

The internet browser also does not let me downlaod files larger than 5mb. since these are rim's servers i assume there is nothing i can do.

can i get the wap browser on my verizon storm? i dont have it as an option, but it sounds like it wouldnt have the 5mb restriction!

So my main questions are:

1) can i set my BES server to allow downloads larger than 5mb using the blackberry browser?

2) can i setup to use the wap browser on my verizon storm, and if so, how? and if so, will it let me download files larger than 5mb?

I never had a problem downloading huge files with my winmo moto q. its driving me nuts! thanks
