Why The Auto Dim Hate?

Why do people hate this so much? I find that while inside, it offers an even dimmer brightness setting than that which you can achieve by disabling it, and setting the brightness at "10".

Thus conserving even more power.

I use Auto Dim and set 50 daytime and 10 night. And have fine battery life this way.

Same, it's amazing how much more life I get out of having brightness set to the lowest.. I wish it could go lower though cuz I still find it too bright!

Auto dim is a great invention.

Late nights, looking at the screen with auto dim set off lights up
my entire room and makes me feel like a deer caught in the high beams.

My setting is auto dim on with backlight at 10 to squeeze every
once of juice of the battery.
