You can't text people with the Spoof app. Just putting that out there.

There are tons of apps, and online services for spoofing sms texts. Google it and you'll be surprised at how many there are.

Its someone that knows your wife... There are tons of sites where you can send a message and put any "from" number in the box. Sorry to say, calling the cops will be a waste of time. You should ask her who has her number, should be a simple enough thing to narrow down. Maybe one of her friends phone was recently stolen. Sorry can't be of better help.

Check the details of your bill. On some lower end flip phones you can change the callback number on the phone easily. There is nothing to say that is is comming from a BlackBerry by a simple SMS. Check the bill details and it will tell you the actual number that it is calling from.
