Default Search your question before you post!

i'm wondering if you as the moderator can add a sticky at the top that simply says in the title "search your question before you post"? it would be great if you could do that...the thread doesn't have to say anything else but that way it will always be one of the first things seen in this forum

That's funny...that you think people who are too lazy to search actually look at the Stickies...or anything else for that matter. Most of them post something like "What's the best OS" when there are already 2 other threads with the exact same title on the page they're looking at.

If you search, you'll see this topic has been covered numerous times.

Here is the latest: http://forums.crackberry.com/f34/new...issues-324306/

If the thread annoyed folks that much and they just ignored it, it would fall further to the bottom of the pile and be put to rest.

It seems it's best to either skip threads that annoy OR post a link that answers the OPs question (i like this bc it shows them the search feature while also answering the question) or create an auto text for commonly asked questions and just reply and feel cozy inside for helping while being nice.

oh i normally answer the questions and tell them to search at the same time...just thought it might cut down on some of the repetitiveness...

i don't think adding (another) search sticky will help at all. It's just the nature of the beast.

By the way, there's already a sticky http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...ry-com-273629/

i agree with leaving a link for the op. then they'll see that it was posted before and get the hint to search!

This is such a kick in the pants and I love it. So many people get so upset about people not searching and they then go and start an entire new thread about people who don't search. Too bad there have already been so many posts about this in the first place. Maybe the OP should be the one to learn to use the search function.

Here's the irony: whenever folks post in a repetitive thread to complain, it gets bumped to the top and more folks see it and post in it to complain and so on...

i don't mind that either. it's just amusing!
