Default Modify Plazmic ThemeBuilder 4.5 to Export Custom Themes in OS 4.2.2

In case anyone missed this…
I’ve figured out how to export Custom themes in a lower os.

you need to edit some files..but its REAL easy. Do it at your OWN RISK….

1) make sure Themebuilder is CLOSED

2) locate the Plazmic CDK 4.5 (4.6 now!)directory in Program files.

3) go to the directory RESOURCES

4) select the file THEMES

5) look for 2 folders. 1 is dimension240×260, the other dimension 320×240.

6) within the dimension 240×260 there is a file called 8100Custom. Right click the file and Open with Wordpad or Notepad.

7) Edit the following lines to look like this:
The files are located in the Resource/Theme directories, then the 240×260 directory (will have the 8100 files) the 320×240 (will have the 8300, 8800 files):

these are the lines you edit:

theme.supportedHandheldOs = 4.5

change the OS to 4.2,4.3,4.5

For the 8800 file, edit the line to read OS 4.2.1,4.2.2,4.5

(note, I've added 4.2.2 for the 8830 support)

Go to the dimension320×240 file and do the same for the 8300Custom, 8800Custom.

I don’t think you will find it necessary to edit the 7100 file.

ENJOY!

(ps..I'd suggest making a backup of these files in case you messed them up)

****10/22/08 (EDIT) **** I did not realize people were still using this as a guide...
There are a few changes to this set up for a few different devices.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I can be reached at PIMPMYBERRY.com

I hope you don't mind Steven, but I added this information to the How To install Plazmic thread here.

Don't mind at all...just want everyone to be able to use the CDK for all the OS' out there.

If you set it for 4.2.2, it will for OS 4.3.

Also..This was not my find. User Constabl posted on BBF the file that needed to be edited..I just elaborated on it in more detail.

Hey guys,

I dragged some of the original plazmic 4.5 custom theme files out of Plazmic 4.5 OS into zip (Compressed Folder). If you don't have the plazmic Themebuilder 4.5. So you can download theme files within zip. So you can edit the theme files (within the dimension 240×260 there is a file called 8100Custom. Open with Wordpad or Notepad) on your own for Plazmic 4.2 before export it in OS 4.2 (plazmic Builder).

Here download: Plazmic CDK4v5-Resources-Theme.zip (47.55 MB)

Good luck!
