Smile U. S. Navy Theme for 9630 Tour

I am a veteran of the Navy and was wondering if anyone could make me a Navy Theme for my Tour 9630.

Would you like military themed icons or have you any ideas for what you'd like to see on it? I will tell you military themed icons are going to be hard to come by for individual branches, but I'd be more than happy to try to find some. Just might take a while.

If both of you can give me some ideas, I'll give it a try. I'd been thinking about some armed forces themes already and would probably go ahead and do five variations. One for each branch.

(Note- before somebody comes along and says there's only four, be advised there are actually five, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.)

Yes 5 branches but only 3 departments

Of the 5 each reports to one of the following: The Department of the Army, the Department of the Air Force, and the Department of the Navy.

A tree can have many branches but they all begin with 1 root. In this case the root being the people who choose to serve. I stop and thank each and every service member for protecting my freedoms as I protected so many others during my time in service.

(Double Note-The Coast Guard should not be considered a branch of the military due to the fact that it has the authority to bare arms against it's own people when not during a time of Martial Law. So to consider it a part of the military is hitting on a VERY gray area.

Only during times of Martial Law does our military have the right to bare arms against the people of this country... Hence why we got shot at after hurricane Andrew while trying to keep out looters and we could not have ammo to defend ourselves only the FL National Guard could.)

I'm well aware of that jbrill. You did however make a couple of mistakes though. The Coast Guard started out as a branch of the Treasury Department and was subsequently transferred in 1967 to the Newly formed Department of Transportation. They are still considered a member of the armed services and recognized as such by the remaining branches, the President and Congress, as their personnel are granted the same privileges and courtesies the other branches are with respect to retirement not to mention their active involvement in EVERY war the United States has fought since their inception.

Regardless of your opinion about the Coast Guard, that is not how the United States government sees it. You are entitled to your opinion but your slight on one of the branches who protect you seems a bit trivial at best.

I am assuming based on your post you were or are in the military but understand I have been surrounded by the military and still work with the Dept of the Army at this point in my career. All total that's 42 years. I was surrounded by and taught about the military growing up as my father is retired Army and my brother retired USCG. I full well understand the way the military and all of her branches are set up and how they work.

Oh and since you brought up Andrew, understand my brother was stationed at COMMSTA Miami when that happened. He lost everything he owned and still stood his post during and after the devastation occurred. The base was protected post storm by Navy Seals and USCG Taclet teams. He and his family lived in tents as their quarters were uninhabitable until arrangements to get his wife, two sons and infant daughter to a safer environment were made by the Coast Guard. He stayed to do his duty as it was his responsibility to do, so I'd really appreciate if you backed up off the Coast Guard and your idea they are not a branch of the service when they clearly are.

The legal basis for the Coast Guard is Title 14 of the United States Code, which states: "The Coast Guard as established January 28, 1915, shall be a military service and a branch of the armed forces of the United States at all times."

Let me know if I can help you with this. As a Navy veteran I would like to see one also. I am new to theme making for BB's as I used to make themes and rom's for Winmo phones.

Thanks Cooltech, Here are a few images i am working with so far folks. Tell me if this is acceptable or not.

This is the homescreen image:

This is the lockscreen image:

I was going to use the icons I already have but wanted to know if you guys want a weather icon, etc...

If these images are not up to par, by all means say so. I want this and the rest of the military themes to look like something a vet would be proud to sport on their phone.

Maybe an image of a aircraft carrier?

I am not at home right now. I like your lockscreen image but I think I have something you can use for the Homescreen with your blue background and just replace the Navy Emblem.

This is a wonderful idea; many thanks to the one suggesting it and those who have offered to help. Though I did not serve in the Navy, I retired from the Air Force at twenty years. My last assignment was on a Marine base and, of course, there were plenty of Navy personnel there, too. I can still remember a Navy unit in Bahrain.

Anyway, it's a great idea, and I'm sure many people will want to use the theme on their Tours. An Air Force theme would be nice, too. In fact, a theme for each branch of the military would be excellent. It would also be a way of showing support for those who risk their lives to keep us free.

Perhaps a submarine, carrier (as curtiskoepell suggested) or destroyer would be a nice image for one of the screens. The possibilities are endless.

I would love to see some military themes. Army veteran here, and we need to represent.
