Onyx Price

Hey guys!

I want to buy the Onyx without a contract. Can anybody say anyhing about the price without contract? When will the onyx will be avaible without a contract? I mean how many weeks after the first contract sale?

The design is pure greatness.
Why RiM just bring it out. Looks pretty nice for now. Couldn't get any better. Give it a nice software finishing and let us have a nice september.

600usd sounds right, isnt that what the bold went for?

$600...sounds a little steep to me. I'm thinking (hoping) for around $500.

Its a nice thought anyway. I'll have to buy it out of contract as well.

I would say $299 USD w/ 2yr but that is just my best educated guess....

I'm hoping for $199 w/ 2 year contract, but that would pretty much force them to lower the price even further on the 8900.
It seems like $199 is the current price point that would be attractive the majority of casual users. But if they market this thing as a device equal to or better than the Bold, then they might feel they can charge Bold level prices or more...

The without contract price is probably going to be $599

im wondering if they try to keep the price lower like around 199usd to try to compete with the new iphone and the pre we all know that competition will drive price down faster than the housing market

To be honest with Sprint being the current carrier for the PRE at&t isn't that worried and there is a GSM/UMTS version on the horizon. We don't really consider Sprint competition. at&t really only competes with one company and that's Verizon....
