Does it have the 3.2 Mp camera or the 5.0 Mp we have been hearing about?

Now that you have owned both sistems (trackball and trackpad), which you think is better? More responsive?.. More easy to use.. Etc..

I think the trackpad is more responsive than the trackball to be honest and it doesn't take that long to get adjusted to it. Like phonegeek said in his review the button is a bit more sensitive than I would like.

My biggest hangup about the 9700 over my current 9000 Bold is that the Onyx is noticeably smaller than the Bold...and I really like the added "real estate" of the Bold. I don't like a tiny device at all.

Two questions...

1. How "solid" does the 9700 feel in comparison to the Bold? I like the weightiness of the Bold...but the loose battery cover isn't a plus. Is the 9700 as light as the 8900 (too light, IMO) or is it heavier, like the 9000?

2. How is the keypad action as opposed to the Bold? I was afraid the Bold keypad was going to be an 88xx-series copy...but it's the best BB keypad ever IMO. Is the 9700 keypad cramped, is it faster or the same feel as the 9000 Bold?

Thanks, and...congrats!

How's the external speaker sound quality compared to the Bold?
Maybe something to throw in the video

Default Audio

I wonder if it was possible to do a Audio side by side with Bold and Onyx

I know the bold has pretty great sound and the phone audio is great too
hearing who is calling.

are there Sound holes on left and right on the onyx ?

The sound from the external speaker is good to say the least. I've had to put someone on speaker last week for a sort of conference call and everything sounded clear as a bell.

I can't imagine paying a lot of money for a test device. I'm glad I get them from RIM

1. The 9700 definitely feels solid like the bold. There is a huge weight difference between the 9700 and the 8900. I would say the bold and 9700 are about the same.

2. The bold was never my primary device I got it for my girlfriend and I used the 8900 so I'm still getting used to the keyboard, but compared to the bold it is similar but due to the size I find it cramped compared to the bold, but I was used to the size of the 8900 so I'm ok with it.

The sound quality of the speakers are softer than the bold but I'm guess it could be due to the size difference. I will try to do the video tonight cause I forgot my tripod.

I can't see the sound holes on the onyx, it is similar to the 8900 where it is covered.

Here is the video comparing the Bold trackball to the Onyx trackpad. This video isn't as good as Salomondrin's but it'll have to do for now. Hope you guys enjoy this.

Sorry about the camera noise with it focusing. I used a point and shoot

Here are pics taken from the Bold and Onyx to show you the improvements on the camera on the Onyx:
