I have both 9700 and iPhone. Different phones for different purposes. When I travel abroad and turn off roaming, then I carry the iPhone since it's just a better device overall with all the apps and the music capability
However if I do have constant wifi connections and I'm on a business trip where I need to be connected, then the 9700 gets the spot in my bag.
Besides BlackBerries are generally built for people who need constant email and the ability to respond relatively well. Try replying to 30-40 emails a day on a iPhone touchscreen vs. a 9700 and I'm pretty sure the majority of people would find that having a keypad makes life a lot easier
I wish there was a single device that was as good as the iPhone for browsing, apps and general fun that combined the BlackBerry productivity, and most people would say Storm 2! But after owning the Storm1, there's really no way I'd go back to that device unless it underwent some magical transformation.

I love my curve, but will be getting a 9700 as soon as I can find an AT&T store with one in stock.

I've made my decision, back to the iPhone 3gs. The 9700 was nice but couldn't get over the crappy gmail implementation and poor browser. It took me twice as long to do simple tasks on the 9700 as it did on my iPhone. The one thing I will miss is the superb battery life on the 9700. When the blackberry gets a decent browser I may come back, but I'm sure the iPhone by than will have multitasking which is it's main negative now.

The new screen is insanely better.

There is no browser experience that is going to equal the one on the iPhone. There is no display that will equal the iPhone.
That said....aside from myridad problems with the iPhone, there is one that is an absolute deal breaker for me....why would a company give its device such a substandard battery and then nail its customers to a device that does not allow for something as simple as the changing of that battery?
I tried to like it, tried to love it, was very excited when I got it, but the bloom was off the rose very quickly, when I realized that I could not even customize the thing to my liking, in something as simple as adding wallpapers. And the battery issue....enough said.
But I do realize that there are folks who are absolutely in love with their devices, as I am in love with my 9700.
Different folks, different strokes.

Different folks, different strokes. | You hit the nail on the head. The fact you have to pay Apple $70 to replace the weak substandard battery that comes with the iPhone is insane.

I am the anti-iphone member in my family. My daughter loves hers, but when she cracked the screen at the top of the phone and took it to the Apple store, they would not replace the screen because the sensors inside were red, indicating she had gotten the phone wet. She never got it wet! The tech admitted that a steamy bathroom can turn the sensors red which voids the warranty. What???? You have GOT to be kidding me!! She had it for maybe 9 months and they did nothing. I thinks it's hysterical when iphone users say it's a solid build phone. I can't tell you how many I know drop this "solid build" phone and crack the screen! The Blackberries, imo, are definitely more solid. They withstand drops like nobody's business! I'm a Blackberry girl for life. I just cannot handle a touch screen phone. Granted, the iphone is the better choice for my hubby, so we enjoy having fun dissing each other phones. P.S. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my 9700!

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | Simple tasks? Really? Pretty much every simple task on the iPhone takes 100 times longer. Take it from an Apple fanboy. Seems like you need to take some time to set up the BlackBerry.
I'll admit the iPhone is a lot prettier though while it lags.
Simple tasks.. gosh, at least say you're going back for the better multimedia and browsing!

I think I will keep both and switch when I need the mutimedia functions of the iPhone. It seems I can use both on the blackberry data plan according to the sticky in the iPhone forum. I do have 30 days if I decide to return the 9700. I guess 1 day wasn't enough time to make a good decision.

Simple tasks.. gosh, at least say you're going back for the better multimedia and browsing! | when I say simple tasks I meant in having a nice and simple gmail setup. I'm having issues setting it up properly on the blackberry. If I keep my mailboxes seperate and use the gmail plugin why is it that if I archive a message in the gmail folder it still remains in the main message folder?

Different folks, different strokes. | Im sorry but this was true a few months ago but if you use the N900 you will understand that the N900 excels in browsing experience. I went on a youtube site using the N900 (mind you this was a prototype version in the new york store) and there was completely no lag and the browser opened the page in no time on T-mobile 3g also playing thie video in full flash. Anyone who is spenidng 650 on a blackberry who want a solid device no contract wise and love open source i advice go to the N900 the community is just as friendly as Blackberry and we all work together. I love my BB thats why i have the bold 9700 and will get the N900 also.
