The browser fix is very easy, just download Opera Mini, problem solved.

Kind of hard to explain the size thing. Smaller is generally better for a smartphone/mobile device, but the 9700 is too small in my opinion. It's got a great form factor and feels nice in the hand, but the keyboard is a bit cramped for typing and the screen is small for viewing stuff. I used a Pearl for about 2 1/2 years. Small device, but I loved it, great form factor, keyboard (large keys) was amazing to type on...maybe a conversation for another thread (new BB Pearl 9100 on the horizon).

So what are you saying, the Bold 9700 is too small, and the Bold 9000 is too big? I never liked the iPhone, but they're good money makers. I already know that I'm not getting rid of my 9000. The most complete device that I have ever owned. I love sending a quick PIN message, responding to a time-sensitive pushed email while on the phone with my girl, conveying to her know as to how long TeleNav GPS Navigator is telling me about my ETA. I could never do that with the iPhone. I know I will be able to with the Bold 9700, but I was also concerned about its size, and by that I mean that it might be too small for me. The screen on the 9000 is also by far the single most impressive display that I have ever lay my eyes upon.

Is there anything you, or anyone else can say as to the 9700 being too small, or too something or other?

Thanks...

akblackberry and jgaspar89, let me think about it. Since I got it at no-commitment, I may sell it and not return it.

Ha!

Blackberry whether native, Omini, or Bolt is not anywhere close to the browsing experience of the iphone.

True CGI, I have the 3G now and the original iPhone before that, but if you learn the Omini shortcuts at least you have a functional browser unlike the native one. Better than the iPhone, no, but pretty good and you can surf and do other stuff at the same time, something that isn't going to happen on the iPhone.

I have a Bold 9000 and really want to get the 9700 based on the improvements, but the smaller form factor is a real turnoff. The size of the 9000 is amazing.

wow i may be the only person that is waiting to get the 9700 because i hate how big the 9000 is and the iPhone is even bigger, loved the size of my curve 8300 and like how the 9700 is possibly even a little smaller, all the people that dont like their 9700's i'll take it

I had an unlocked jailbroken iphone 3g and honestly I used it for a few months gave it its run but when it comes down to functionality and an everyday phone for multitasking it was the worst! Plus the battery life was horrible! It was a game changer for sure but its running its course thin.....I too am a mac user and the iphone was a lil disappointingm more of a multimedia device than all in one device.......I love my blackberries...and now I have the bold 9700 and I cannot put it down....the browser is great, the camera beats the iphone bc of a simple flash, address book is so easy to find contacts among the rest, the durability is solid, and the battery life is all we can ask for in a device it really blew me away! But that's just my opinion.....

Its not that I'm jealous. Even my buddy thinks so. That's why he bought that OEM skin. I even admit that my Curve feels like of a bit of a toy without the skin. The old 8700's and 8800's back in the day felt solid and were built like bricks

I had the Tour (Sprint) but since the App I need to view CC cameras in a few of my stores requires APN settings I had to switch to T-Mobile and I now have the 9700.

Put a trackpad on the Tour, move the charger port to the left side of the device and it wins. The 9700 is just a bit small and a tiny bit, but noticeably lighter whereas the overall size and feel of the Tour is perfect. It's going to take a while for me to get use to the 9700.
