I'll admit to 1 thing; it came to me while I was using my browser a minute ago...the brower really does drive me nuts. Thank goodness that's not the reason I bought it.

Actually i sat down and compared the Droid Eris, Moto Droid, & Storm 2. The Eris and Moto Droid are very different. The only thing I liked better on the 2 Droids over Storm 2 was the browser. Storm needs a native webkit. Eris was much smoother than the moto droidimo. I did not like the buttons on the moto droid. Yeah, I liked the multitouch on the Eris. It felt good in my hand. The Eris is a very nice phone I would consider. However, being that I think the BB interface is more practical, and as smooth as it needs to be, I prefer to try the Storm 2. However, I would like to get my wife the Eris just so i could dig deeper into it.

I agree with the OP. I got the early upgrade flier too and went to VZW and played with the Droid and it had a quite a few issues. (Namely the accelerometer and non responsive button presses)
If RIM gets the browser right on the S2, this is going to be a tough device to beat!

glad to have you back!

My wife and I both love out S2s. We are anti Moto. RIM FTW!

As my company's Exchange and BES admin, I've been tasked with an iPhone as part of supportability pilot (Apple is a client of ours). I admit it's a nice piece of hardware and the browser is fantastic (obviously), but as an email client, it makes my teeth itch.

For anyone with email as a primary task would agree, there isn't yet a better phone for email. It is a Blackberry, after all. If you're someone who just txts or socially emails, the iPhone and others are probably better devices.

It all comes down to what's paramount for the owner of said device. For me, it's got to allow me easy management of the ton of email I deal with. If it can play games and offer a decent browsing experience, that's gravy. For me, the Storm2 is about as best I've worked with (I've also owned WinMo for a period of time). Though the first year with the 9530 was trying at times...and RIM is lucky I gave them another shot.

Regardless, the competition is ultimately going to benefit us the consumer. Enjoy what you can...or **** off.

Add my vote to the OP's. I just came back from Verizon. I literally spent 3 hours there playing with the Droid, the Eris and the S2.
I absolutely hated the Droid. The form factor was clunky, the build quality was poor and the functionality was mediocre.
The surprise of the bunch was the Eris. It actually worked as intended. Once the OS is upgraded to Android 2.0+, I think it could be a winner.
For now though, the overall winner and still the Champion is the Storm 2.

And that is why RIM will never improve! They will continue to sell you phones that are virtually the same as previous models. "have you seen the new Curve, Bold, Storm, Tour, Popeye, Brutus, Olive Oil?

Who are you trying to convince?
The people who tried the Droid and actually prefer tired old RIM? Why does that seem to irritate you so much?

Why are you showing me that link? You just don't get it, do you.... Sigh... WHO CARES!?! Yes - there is increased competition, and Android is likely to be a nice fit for many consumers, but that does not change the fact that some people still prefer Blackberry. GET OVER IT ALREADY. Do you have some need for EVERYONE to desire the same phone as you for some reason?

And from the last 2 years we all know that analyst in all markets are always right and never wrong, right. People pick and choose what they like or don't like all the time for what ever reason that fits their needs.

Again, why does this seem to bother you so much that people like something other than what you like. You seem to travel from thread to thread trying to convince people not to like what they like. If you like your Droid so much then go play on it and the Droid forums. Just sayin.

Yeah, what the previous post said.

While agree that BB currently has the best email capabilities and have been long known for this, the truncated emails are a PITA. I have to give props to CIVIC on her/his (I can't see profiles on wap) crusade to get RIM to STOP truncating emails. That said there is no better alternative.

I played with the Droid for an hour on Friday and I was impressed. I like the looks of the S2 better but the android market and the browser were sweet on the droid. I have to have my exchange connection though. I have read it works flawlessly on the droid and I have read the opposite. I have co-workers that love the way their Iphone integrates with the calendar, email and folders. I had to resort to using Notifysync to even get my Storm to play nice with our exchange. It is a great app but I paid good money for it. I like the idea of being able to keep my personal calendar and my work calendar separate though.

I also use mobiscope on my BB as well and it appears that there are free or near free apps on the droid for this. I hope to get a friends droid to try my exchange setup on. I found both phone to be really nice. The browser on S2's at the VZ store would not work though. Seems like Verizon is making more hoopla for the droid then the Storm2.

I am on the fence...
