Newest 9550 OS 5.0.0.320- Verizon

Package Version: 5.0.0.497
Consisting of:

* Applications: 5.0.0.320
* Software Platform: 4.2.0.124
* File name: 9550AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel497_PL4.2.0.124_A5.0.0.320.ex e
* File size: 101MB

To install to any carriers 9550:

1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.

Is there a difference with what the Storm 2 came with from this, mine has 320 on it and its platform 4.2.0.124 as well.

I don't think there's any difference. It should be the same OS you have on the phone.

ok thats what I thought, one thing I am disappointed in is that the new storm 1 5.0 release from verizon splits BES and BIS mail into separate folders, so my Gmail and work email are separate, or I can use the message folder to have them combined.

I really wish the storm2 .320 did that. the two days I was running the new release on the storm1 I fell in love with it.

If you go to Verizon
BlackBerry® Software Updates
you can get 9530AMEA_PBr5_1_.0.0_rel508_PL4.2.0.128_A5.0.0.328 .exe
It is listed for a 9530 not the 9550
Is this newer then 320 ??

320 is listed under 9550.

DOn't the storm 1 and 2 run the same OS ?

320 is for the Storm 2 and 328 for the Storm.

Stainless, no, they are not the same OS.

9530 ≠ 9550

5.0.0.328 for the 9530 ≠ 5.0.0.320 for the 9550

SO which to use ??

Even though they both opperate with the 5.0 OS they still have different hardware so the builds are uniqe to each one thus a different 5.0.0.xxx number

is there away to extract the mail separation from 328 and load it onto 320? samething with one of the earlier 5.0 builds that had tabed browsing, can you snag that browser and put it on 320?
