Question Where are all the 8530 ppl with their reviews today?

I was hoping to come on today and read all about the new curve and how everyone likes it but I can't find anyone's reviews today? Am I not looking in the right area and missing them?

Just got it, took and hour and half in the store. Apparently there was something wrong with the esn's and the system wouldn't let me activate the phone. It was finally resolved, just hated sitting around a waiting. It always seems to happen when I go to verizon.

On to the phone, I've been playing with it for about 2 hours and it seems pretty good except for mms and sms. The conversations dont always open up, it will show the text but I cant open it and read what was sent or received. Ill continue to report as I screw with it more

I picked up the 8530 yesterday and I'm pretty happy with it. I have to say, I really like the track pad. I am coming from the storm, which I also got on the launch date, so.......... Prior to the storm, I had a curve 8330 so I think I can attest to the fact that the 8530 is definitely an improvement.

PROS: Compact size, great keyboard, wifi, track pad, and 0S 5.0

CONS: 2MP camera with no flash, low res screen, not a global phone.

Even though it may seem like I downgraded I don't regret my decision. I think that ultimately it boils down to what you really use your BB for.

Ok After playing with it more, I've noticed it lags every once in a while. Ill move the trackpad and you will hear it click, but nothing happens and then it goes super fast past where ever you were trying to go.

Also I haven't browsed a whole lot using the using the network but it def seems faster than when im using the wifi on my own router. It takes about 3 to 5 minutes to load a page, when it does fully load. Does anyone know if there is a setting that will make it faster? I changed the browser to firefox so i can get my hotmail, does that make a difference?

I prefer the trackball alot more but I think ill get used to the pad in time.

I changed the theme to the transformers, also takes some getting used to, it puts icons in weird spots and you have to search and put them back in their correct folders. Does this happen with most themes?

Battery life seems pretty good, Ive been screwing with the phone since about 5 am and it still has about 30% left, which is better than the tour I had.

In no way do I regret getting the phone, love it and will keep it for the long time, unlike my tour.

Have you went into the BB browser settings and turned off javascript? Honestly it seems my 8330's BB browser is often faster than alot of these newer BBs' (Tour,Storm2,9700)browsers. I think because it doesn't try to replicate the entire web page like a PC.

Ill give that a shot, plus i switched back to the blackberry browser instead of the firefox, I can live without hotmail.

I can't argue with the build quality of the 8830. It's a tank.Shame it never came with a camera. If you take a lot of low light pics then you're right to skip the 8530.But to say the Pearl Flip is a better BB? I don't know about that.....

I can't give a review since Sprint didn't release there like it was originally posted for November 20, 2009. Hopefully soon I can give my feedback, since I will be new to Blackberry.
